[Remote] Securities Finance Analyst

The Securities Finance Analyst will manage a portfolio of borrowed and lent securities, focusing on maximizing profitability while minimizing risk, and collaborating with various teams on product development and operations optimization.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and execute borrow and loan opportunities across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, ETFs) using both manual and automated trading strategiesLeverage SQL, AI tools to streamline daily tasks, develop analytical tools, and automate data-driven decisions, Go experience preferredCollaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to optimize data pipelines, trading systems, operational efficiency and risk controlsMonitor outstanding loans, recalls, and rates to optimize risk and profitabilityBuild and maintain relationships with borrowers, lenders, custodians, and firm client partnersAssess and manage counterparty, credit, and market risk while staying informed of market developments and regulatory changesWork with existing and new securities lending vendors on product development solutionsCreate automated workflow solutions for securities lending trading and operationsAssist in infrastructure building and business development for tokenized equities financingSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field1–3 years of experience in a technical or trading role, ideally with some exposure to securities lending, short selling, operations or related experienceSeries 7 and 63, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employmentProficient in SQL, Excel VBA, AI automation tools, Go experience preferredStrong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilitiesFamiliarity with core financial instruments (equities, fixed income, ETFs, cryptocurrency) and general market mechanicsExcellent collaboration and communication skills to work across teamsSelf-starter: high level of initiative and eagerness to learn about securities lending, product development, advanced trading concepts, and building automated trading strategiesGo experience preferredBenefitsCompetitive Salary & Stock OptionsHealth BenefitsNew Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex CardCompany OverviewAlpaca is a financial system platform that allows developers and businesses to build apps, embed investing, and trade algorithms.
