The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce applications critical to the operation of the credit union, working closely with stakeholders and IT personnel.ResponsibilitiesMaintain basic Salesforce Administration tasks such as user management, onboarding, and data managementHandle basic configuration such as creating fields, updating page layouts, building dashboards and reportsAssist with support to Salesforce users, addressing issues and answering questions related to the platform and managing the support channelMonitor and assist in driving user adoptionDetermine operational feasibility by evaluating requirements, analyzing problem definitions, and proposing solutionsResearch and analysis of business change opportunities to support management decisions and innovative ideasMaintain Comprehensive documentation related to Salesforce configurations, processes, and proceduresConfiguration changes including (but not limited to): Flow, assignments rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, custom settings, and building dashboards and reportsUnderstand both the current set-up and our business objectives, to quickly identify areas of improvementEffective communication both internally and with other departments/stakeholders, prioritization and managing all aspects of a Salesforce projectAbility to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impactSandbox environment managementProvide insight and guidance into overall Salesforce information architectures and designsUnderstand basics of triggers/Apex code knowledgeDevOps/release management experienceMentor Salesforce Administrators through software project lifecycles and securityAdvise the Salesforce Manager on project prioritization, as neededLead training, share skills and knowledge, and provide work directions to Salesforce team membersEnsure the development of efficient and performant applications adhering to appropriate architecture design principlesSupport deployment and post-implementation testing/validation of configuration changes and program releasesOffer constructive feedback to junior administrators to support their professional development and promote best administrative practicesGather necessary information from vendors, provide advice on software licensing, recommend purchases, and oversee testing and approvals for new productsMaintain and promote the highest standards of information security and privacy policies in accordance with Black Hills FCU’s security guidelinesServe as back-up support to maintain and administer parameters, defaults, and system settings within the Credit Union’s software applicationsCoordinate vendors and vendor relationships to maintain a positive working relationship that benefits the Credit Union and ensures reliable, high-quality serviceLead or co-lead development projects in a timely manner, adhering to internal standards of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Use various project development methods if warranted. Communicate effectively with interested partiesMaintain and improve existing applications, providing direction to ensure that applications are kept up-to-date with supported and current technologiesProvide exceptional front-line support to end users throughout the organizationExpand knowledge and proficiency to maintain capabilities to develop and support systems as technologies evolveStay up-to-date on Salesforce.com releases, features, and best practicesPerform other duties as assigned by the Salesforce ManagerSkillsBachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or Information Systems is preferred0-2 years of experience in Salesforce or in an IT related roleBasic knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamUnderstanding of software principles and tools, including testingExperience implementing Salesforce configuration changesAbility to think strategically and coordinate agreement with appropriate staff within the Credit UnionAbility to lead teams through projectsA strong ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders, vendors, and project teamsMaintain updated knowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations and proceduresAbility to understand and follow complex written and oral instructionsAbility to comprehend complex functions and procedures and to be able to disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to othersAbility to express oneself, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingAbility to prepare and maintain confidential records and reportsAbility to handle daily routine with moderate freedom to read and act upon various situationsAbility to prioritize duties, handle multiple tasks, and produce a high volume of work in a timely manner that is accurate and of high qualityAbility to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities and elicit cooperation from all levels of staff and managementAbility to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and vendorsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionKnowledge of modern principles and practices of technology, systems integration, and project managementKnowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmeticKnowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations, and proceduresKnowledge of Credit Union philosophies, practices, policies, and interrelated functionsKnowledge of project management standards and practicesKnowledge of the Credit Union's core system, Salesforce, and various other Salesforce application integrationsA strong technological knowledge and understanding as to how the digital products interact collectively and with other systems in the BHFCU environmentExperience problem-solving complex and diverse issues impacting multiple functional areasExperience in formal project management, actively overseeing and contributing to the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completionExperience in collaborating with vendors and cross-functional departments throughout the software development lifecycle, including improvement, adoption, and enhancement initiativesExperience with financial related systems is preferredSalesforce certifications are strongly preferred but not required2-5 years of experience in Salesforce or in an IT related roleProficient knowledge of Salesforce platformSalesforce and other relevant software certifications and training5+ years of experience in Salesforce applicationsExperience leading and managing teams and vendor relationshipsCompleted relevant certifications/education pathways and considered a master of Salesforce, in addition to any other individually assigned applicationsExperience in leading teams through the implementation, upgrade, and testing of new application features and updatesCompany OverviewBlack Hills Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization that provides services on insurance, finance investments and lending.
