The role involves developing wholesale and retail strategies, managing client relationships, and executing sales plans to enhance brand visibility in the US market.ResponsibilitiesOwn wholesale and retail business development across core US markets, with priority on East and West CoastIdentify, pursue, and develop high-quality client relationships across target channels, including: Fine jewelry boutiques and specialty buyers, Luxury and premium department stores, Watch and jewelry retailers, Multi-brand concept stores, Online retailers and e-commerce partners, VIP clients and key industry influencersBuild the full business development cycle from scratch: prospecting, outreach, visits, negotiation, contracting, onboarding, payment collection, and repeat order managementLeverage existing deep industry relationships to rapidly engage target clients and partnersOperate independently across both coasts without requiring day-to-day support from the central teamBuild long-term, trust-based client relationships that grow brand visibility and credibility in the US marketIdentify key opinion leaders, industry brokers, and potential strategic partners, and drive those relationships to tangible outcomesDevelop and execute sales plans to meet US market targetsManage the complete sales cycle from initial engagement through to recurring ordersUse market feedback to refine product mix recommendations, pricing strategy, display approaches, and channel tacticsCollaborate cross-functionally with brand, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure order fulfillment, inventory coordination, after-sales support, and client satisfactionWhere relevant, lead or contribute to building an online distribution and e-commerce partner networkUnderstand digital sales logic and the mechanics of standing up online channel partnerships from scratchBring practical knowledge of US consumer behavior, channel characteristics, and digital retail dynamicsRepresent Djula's brand identity, aesthetic, and cultural values accurately and compellingly with all clients and partnersPrioritize partners whose positioning and values are genuinely aligned with the brand, over short-term volumeAct as a key pillar of Djula's long-term commercial presence in the USSkills5+ years of experience in sales or business development, with a background in fine jewelry, luxury watches, or high-end accessoriesProven, convertible industry relationships in the US market — particularly on the East and West CoastsDemonstrated ability to independently develop accounts, negotiate partnerships, and close businessHands-on experience in wholesale, retail, and channel sales, including multi-brand stores, boutique retail, and distribution modelsTrack record of building business from zero — comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed executionGenuine aesthetic sensibility and cultural alignment with the Djula brand positioningComfortable working across time zones and culturesBased in the US or Shanghai, with the ability to support US market operations directlyProfessional proficiency in both English and Chinese preferredSuccessful track record developing luxury jewelry or watch retail networks in the USExisting relationships with US specialty department stores, concept boutiques, or chain retailExperience in online distribution or e-commerce channel development, with proven zero-to-one successStartup or early-stage company experience — able to execute fast with limited resourcesGlobal perspective with an understanding of both Western and Chinese business culture and communication stylesBenefitsCompetitive base salary plus performance-based commission and sales incentives.Exceptional candidates who can drive meaningful business breakthroughs may qualify for additional flexible incentive arrangements.Company OverviewDjula is an online jewelry store that offers a range of bracelets, rings, necklaces, and earrings with various collections.
