Remote Ruby on Rails Developer /From Chile/ for US company/

A well-established and fast growing company from the East Coast of the United States is looking to build a team of Senior Ruby on Rails developers working completely remotely from Chile. You will be responsible for many different parts of the lifecycle, including planning, development and implementation of features and fixes. The ideal candidate has excellent English, experience working remotely, experience working with international companies, and is passionate about well-organized code and user-driven applications. Main responsibilities: • Interact directly with the US-based team to design and build world-class applications. • Write code that is clear, well-tested, optimized and thoroughly documented. • Assist in removing development blocks for other members of the team, both locally in Chile and in the US. • Perform code reviews to ensure strongly-designed and tested commits. • Collaborate with and mentor other members of the team, both locally and abroad. • Participate in discussions about design and architecture of the apps. • Lead benchmark and performance tuning efforts. • Always follow international industry-standard best practices. Requirements: • High Intermediate/ Advanced English level, both written and verbal • 5+ years of experience on Ruby on Rails framework • 5+ years experience in HTML and CSS • 1+ years of experience with React • Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools • Experience writing or refactoring code to be scalable and well-performing. • Experience working with relational databases like MySQL • Experience with unit/functional/integration testing to ensure high quality software that can be maintained. • Experience using flowcharts, diagrams and whiteboarding to document and demonstrate solutions.
