AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Risk Control Consultant on the Strategic Risk Team (SRT) to provide expert guidance to underwriting, sales, claims, clients, agents, and brokers. The role involves tracking Risk Control service requests, conducting service reviews, onboarding new accounts, and assisting large premium workers' compensation accounts with loss analysis and risk management services.ResponsibilitiesInquiry Management: Answer questions and provide support through "Ask LC" and "LC Inquiry" for underwriting, sales, claims, clients, agents, and brokersClient Onboarding: Conduct onboarding meetings for new workers' compensation clients, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of servicesMidyear Reviews: Lead midyear reviews with existing clients to assess account performance, address concerns, and recommend adjustmentsClient Presentations: Present Strategic Risk management services to potential clients and their agents, highlighting value-added services that differentiate the companyOnsite Visits: SRT Consultant will conduct onsite surveys for all risk assigned to them designated full service. (i.e. Premiums over $500,000)Conduct initial onsite Risk Control visits to large premium workers’ compensation accounts to understand their operations and assess riskLoss Analysis: Perform detailed loss analyses for large workers' compensation accounts, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risksClient Support: Work with large workers' comp accounts, offering ongoing support with loss control recommendations and best practices for workplace safetyKey Agency Presentations: Present Strategic Risk management services to key agencies, brokers, and regional underwriting officesCollaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting and claims, to track and ensure comprehensive service and support for high-valued clientsContinuously review and update SRT processes and procedures to ensure that they remain effective and relevantKeeps current with market trends and demandsPerforms other functionally related duties as assignedSkillsMust have 3 years' experience providing Risk Control and risk management to all major P&C linesHave 1+ years' experience handling/coordinating complex risksPossesses a strong understanding of both Property & Casualty lines of coverageMust be able to work remotely, and at times travel extensivelyAbility to analyze loss information to identify root causes and develop loss sensitive recommendationsProvide input to underwriting to help leverage marketing opportunities (primarily related to prospective policyholders)Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision; continually assesses workload considering business priorities; directs own efforts accordinglyUnderstands self-limitations and knows when it is proper to escalate an issue to management, or to collaborate with others on technical questions/issuesExcellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projectsAbility to deal with ambiguous situations and issues. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems. Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectivesAbility to interact collaboratively and work effectively with a multi-functional team and throughout the organization; fosters an environment of shared responsibility and accountabilityKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. Ability to meet or exceed Performance CompetenciesAbility and willingness to travel 20%-40% of the timeMinimum of 7 year's experience in workers' compensation, underwriting, loss control, or client service in the insurance industryStrong understanding of workers' compensation policies and risk management practicesExcellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to perform detailed loss analysis and make strategic recommendationsStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesMust be able to drive, with a valid drivers' license in good standingMust have a vehicle in good physical and working condition for business travel purposes, with lawfully needed insurance coverageMust be able to climb ladders and stairs, as well as transition to and from ladders or stairs to access building roof areas and upper or lower floors within a risk's site during surveysCan navigate through risk's sites in a safe manner, which may include but not limited to manufacturing areas, warehouses, storage yards, construction sites, low light conditions, which may present walking/working surfaces that are uneven, unstable, wet, icy, and/or covered with debrisMust have the ability to work in variety of exposures from extreme outdoor/indoor conditions (heat, snow, cold, rain, etc.)Advanced Loss Control Accreditations preferred but may be offset with work experience in Risk ControlCollege degree (4-year degree or higher) preferred in Safety & Health but may be offset by work experience in Risk ControlBachelor's degree in risk management, Insurance, or a related field preferredProfessional Designations preferredBenefitsMedical & Dental PlansLife Insurance, including eligible spouses & childrenHealth Care Flexible SpendingDependent Care401k Savings PlansPaid Time OffCompany OverviewAmTrust Financial Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as a multinational property and casualty insurance company.
