[Remote] Revenue Recognition Accountant

The Revenue Recognition Accountant will manage revenue accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while collaborating with various teams across the organization.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze revenue accounting entries for month-end close, ensuring deferred revenue waterfalls are accurately maintainedOwn the ASC 606 revenue recognition in NetSuite (ARM module) monthlyPerform detailed reviews/analysis of Master Agreements and Contracts to ensure that revenue is properly recorded, and documentation is in compliance with policyEnsure the accurate application of GAAP to complex revenue transactionsReview Order Perfection for data accuracy and revenue recognition impact in SalesforcePerform & maintain SSP analysis on an annual basisSupport the coordination of annual audit activities of external auditors, as neededParticipate in the continuous improvement of revenue recognition processes and systemsSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience1-3 years of direct experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, and/or 3-5 years of progressive general accounting experience with a strong understanding of revenue principlesProven experience with ASC 606 system implementations (e.g., NetSuite ARM module or similar), and/or Big 4 audit experience with a CPA licenseStrong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP Accounting)Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the 'story' and form recommendationsSuperb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the 'big picture.'Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and Word / Google Docs related skillsExcellent research and analytical skillsExperience and interest to build out systems and processes in a rapidly growing businessBenefitsExcellent PTO programGreat health benefitsA casual and friendly environmentRemote workA leadership team who truly believes in your growth – both personally and professionallyCompany OverviewFirstup is an employee communication and engagement platform connecting companies with their valued asset and their employees.
