[Remote] Research Scientist, Level 1 (Postdoctoral level)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fit Minded Inc is a strategic applied science firm for digital health companies, integrating scientific research with business strategy. The Research Scientist (Level 1) role involves designing and conducting research studies, developing statistical analysis plans, and collaborating with lead scientists to advance innovation in digital health.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design and conduct research studies from literature review and conceptualization through IRB submission, data analysis, and interpretation
ā¢ Develop statistical analysis plans matched to research questions; implement and document analyses using R, SPSS, or similar tools
ā¢ Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to scientific presentations, white papers, or reports
ā¢ Collaborate with lead scientists on research aligned with broader strategic goals, contributing to proposals, publications, and innovation initiatives
ā¢ Participate in grant development (e.g., NIH)
ā¢ Engage in team meetings and contribute ideas that enhance study design, rigor, and relevance
Skills
ā¢ PhD or Postdoc (preferred) in Behavioral Health, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Public Health, or a related field
ā¢ At least one year of hands-on industry experience (paid position, internship, or volunteer work)
ā¢ Experience in digital health/technology and behavior change research, with a strong interest in both mental and physical health
ā¢ Strong proficiency in conducting advanced quantitative analyses; using R or similar statistical analysis software
ā¢ Experience with NIH grant writing and a track record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals
ā¢ Strong writing and communication skills
ā¢ Familiarity with AI tools for workflow optimization and strategic applications
ā¢ Expertise in data collection methodologies, such as survey methodologies, longitudinal tracking, and mixed-methods designs
ā¢ Experience writing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols
ā¢ Able to efficiently gather and synthesize information through scientific literature and market reviews
ā¢ High-level proficiency in conducting qualitative research, such as qualitative interviews and thematic analysis
ā¢ Strong independent work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
ā¢ Able to work remotely while maintaining regular communication with supervisors
