[Remote] Reporter and social media journalist

They are seeking a reporter/social media journalist to cover the residential real estate sector, producing timely news stories and growing their social media audience. Responsibilities • Write news stories based on press releases, interviews and court documents • Pitch original reporting ideas to Inman’s editors • Contribute to Inman’s newsletters • Post regularly to social platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook • Pitch social strategy ideas that will expand Inman’s reach • Develop new templates for social posts Skills • 3-5 years work experience in a newsroom • Successful track record building social media campaigns • Attention to detail and curiosity about all things real estate • Ability to produce accurate copy on tight deadlines • Ability to interview business leaders • Ability to comb through legal documents • Understanding of best practices for social media platforms • Ability to produce engaging content in a breaking news environment • Degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field • Prior experience covering real estate, or other knowledge of the real estate industry Company Overview • Leading independent news publisher for the residential real estate industry.
