[Remote] Renewables Sales Engineer Road Warrior

Virginia Transformer Corp is the largest U.S.-owned producer of power transformers in North America, seeking high-energy Renewables Sales Engineers to support the Renewables sector. The role involves driving sales growth in assigned regions, generating inquiries, and building customer relationships while traveling extensively to meet clients and achieve sales targets.ResponsibilitiesDrive growth in assigned region by selling distribution and power transformers to Commercial Renewables, solar or BESS selling transformers above 30 MVAGenerate new inquiries, follow up on quotes, secure orders, and achieve assigned booking and margin goalsTravel extensively (up to 75%) to visit utilities, engineering firms, channel partners, and key accountsIdentify and develop new accounts and emerging market opportunitiesStrengthen existing relationships through regular onsite visits, follow-up, and responsivenessBuild and maintain a strong pipeline of inquiries and opportunities across assigned territoryTrack leads, quotes, and close rates; adjust strategy to improve hit rate and increase bookingsWork with internal Application Engineers to ensure accurate and timely quotationsSupport channel partners, manufacturers’ reps and distributors to help them achieve their sales targetsConduct customer visits, lunch-and-learns, product presentations, and trainingsUnderstand customer needs, project requirements, and competitive positioningNegotiate pricing and commercial terms on major opportunities with support from leadershipPartner with Project Management to ensure customers stay informed during order executionMaintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive landscape, utility programs, and regional opportunitiesProvide accurate CRM inputs, sales forecasts, and market updatesWork with Marketing to refine sales collateral and value proposition messagingSkillsNo technical degree required — we will teach the products3+ years of sales experienceStrong relationship-building skills, drive, personality, and competitive spiritComfortable with heavy travel (75%) across assigned regionProficiency in Excel and CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)Strong communication and presentation skillsAbility to make cold calls and develop new accountsLegal authorization to work in the U.SExperience selling into Commercial Renewables, solar or BESSExperience with electrical equipment, capital equipment, or field service solutions (not required but helpful)Prior success in a high-bonus, performance-based compensation structureBenefitsUncapped commission offering unlimited earning potentialRemote (Heavy Travel – 75%)Company OverviewVirginia Transformer is an engineering company that manufactures transformers.
