[Remote] Remote Sensing Project Manager

The role involves overseeing and managing LiDAR and UAS projects, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining client satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesReceive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assuranceAssist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationshipsServe as primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfactionIdentify and pursue new business opportunities, develop proposals, and build and maintain client relationshipsOversee and manage LiDAR and UAS projects from initiation to completionDevelop and maintain project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessmentsProvide leadership and mentorship to project team membersCollaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project milestones are achievedEnsure quality control standards are met and adhere to industry best practicesTrain and mentor team members on LiDAR and UAS best practices and technologiesStay up to date with UAS regulations, best practices, and emerging technologiesCollaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and strategiesParticipate in industry conferences or events as a guest speaker or panelist to share insights and expertiseCreate and maintain a social media presence to showcase the company's LiDAR and UAS projects and engage with potential clients and collaboratorsLead internal company initiatives focused on sustainability or social responsibility, such as identifying opportunities to use LiDAR and UAS technologies for environmental monitoring or disaster relief effortsExplore new and innovative applications for LiDAR and UAS technologies, such as using drones equipped with LiDAR sensors for wildlife tracking or mapping archaeological sitesSkillsBachelor's or master's degree in geomatics, surveying, engineering, or a related fieldEight or more (8+) years of work experience, preferably directly on LiDAR and UAS projects, with three or more (3+) years of project management experience, including technical oversight and business developmentStrong understanding of LiDAR and UAS technologies, applications, and best practicesExperience with LiDAR data processing software, such as TerraSolid, LP360, or Global MapperExperience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or TrelloKnowledge of industry regulations and standards related to LiDAR and UAS projectsUAS pilot license or certificationKnowledge of remote sensing technologies and applicationsExperience in business development and salesFamiliarity with the following processing software: Inertial Explorer, TerraSolid, TopoDOT, Global Mapper, Pix4Dcapture, Context Capture, Bayes Strip Align, UgCS, Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation/ORD, AutoDesk ReCap, Cloud Compare, AutoDesk Revit, Trimble StratusBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance401(k) retirement savings plan with company matchPaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysTuition reimbursement and professional development supportDiscretionary bonuses and other performance-based incentivesEmployee Assistance Program (EAP), wellness initiatives, and employee discountsCompany OverviewBowman Consulting is a civil engineering company that provides engineering consulting services nationwide.
