The role involves managing complex accrual-based accounting tasks for multiple clients, demonstrating strong analytical skills and delivering timely results.ResponsibilitiesMaintain assigned clients within approved budget and scope, on an accrual basis, proactively managing utilization and administrative requirements, often with support from an AssociateTrack time on client engagements, manage work within established budgets, and clearly explain budget varianceLead client meetings and provide high level customer service and financial insightPartner with third party advisors and client stakeholders as neededTake full ownership of writing and updating the Client Procedure Manual to ensure it is complete and accurate at all timesSupport and manage clients transitioning out of Implementation, assuming ownership through stabilization and ongoing service deliveryNavigate complex or undefined client situations that are not fully documented or prescriptiveAct as a proactive change agent by identifying inefficient processes and workflows and recommending improvementsOwn and execute accurate and timely month end close and financial reporting, including class reporting, job costing, trend analysis, and variance reviewDemonstrate sustained ownership of month end close deliverables with minimal rework or escalation and limited oversightReview work for accuracy and completeness and ensure timely inputs aligned with month end close requirementsUpdate various KPIS, dashboards and reports and budgets in JiravManage all aspects of core and complex accounting areas, including the following:Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including unbilled revenue, deferred income, bad debt allowances, and other advanced accounting mattersManage fixed asset and intangible asset accounting, including maintaining depreciation and amortization schedules and recording journal entries for asset acquisitions and disposalsPayroll processing using Intuit or other third-party payroll applications and review quarterly and annual reports such as: W-2, W-3, 941, and state U/E. Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepanciesRecord, analyze, and maintain financing transactions, including loans and investments, ensuring appropriate classification of short term and long term obligationsReview and evaluate lease agreements to determine proper short term and long term classification in accordance with applicable accounting standardsPrepare and file sales and use tax returns, property tax filings, and client specific business and franchise tax payments, ensuring accuracy and timelinessAssist with review and preparation of 1099s and year-end payroll inclusionsUse critical thinking to independently interpret, research, and apply knowledge to resolve technical accounting issuesPrepare cash management flash report and support audits, budgeting, and forecasting as neededResponsible for properly tracking inventory and identifying unusual or unexpected resultsLeverage technology to drive efficiency and scalabilityPursues opportunities for continuous learningCollaborate effectively with Accountants and Associates supporting transactional workProvide clear direction on assigned tasks and close expectationsMaintain accountability for final deliverables while operating in a peer support and coaching capacityEffectively partner with an assigned associate on the client file during and after transitionSupport management with gathering documentation for budgets, forecasting and annual auditsPartner with client third-party advisors for exchange of data and reportsAssists on special projects and additional responsibilities as neededSkills5+ years performing full charge bookkeeping2+ years using QuickBooks and/or NetSuite Software, including daily transaction processing, monthly close and financial reportingAdvanced knowledge of fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices and procedures, including enhanced levels of: financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, prepaids/accruals, capitalization, financing, job costing and regulatory tax requirementsDemonstrated experience working with clients transitioning out of Implementation, including navigating complex or undefined situations and assuming ownership through stabilization and ongoing service deliveryPossess a very high degree of accuracy and attention to detailDemonstrated experience managing client engagements within defined budgets and scope, including monitoring utilization, explaining variances, and proactively addressing risksProven experience coordinating and reviewing transactional work performed by Accountants and Associates, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely inputs aligned with month-end close requirementsSelf-directed, highly motivated and proactiveHighly organized and process-drivenExcellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skillsProven experience meeting deadlinesComfortable delegating tasks and providing feedbackFriendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude and strong customer service skills who enjoys meeting and interacting with clients and staffDisplays excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsComfortable interacting with clients via phone and webcamDemonstrate ability to succeed in a fast-paced environmentInnovative thinker and embraces changeAble to work independently and as a team playerStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and OutlookProficient with accounting software, including but not limited to QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite and Sage IntacctExperience with third-party applications such as Bill.com, Tallie, Jirav, and TeamWorkOngoing desire to expand knowledge of new technology and applicationsAIPB, a 2-year associate's degree in an accounting-related field of study, or Minor in AccountingBenefitsWork from home, W-2 positionThree work schedule options including Full Time (37-40 hours), Mod Time (33-36 hours) or Part Time (30-32 hours).
