This role involves providing expertise in field service troubleshooting, installations, and repairs of machinery, requiring robust problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment.ResponsibilitiesTravel to customer(s) locations to perform engine and equipment-related repairsAssist in resolving customer-related issues in a timely mannerWork with all employees and supervisors to ensure the facility is clean and organized and presents a positive image of DEUTZPlan methods and sequence of performing repairs assignedPre-order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairsInspect required repairs safely and effectivelyEnsure all repairs are completed as assigned and according to manufacturer requirementsEnsure proper cosmetic appearance upon completion of repairsEnsure all parts and materials not used are returned per DEUTZ Power Center return parts guidelinesMaintain and keep the work area in a clean and safe conditionCommunicate with customers in a respectful and honest mannerMatch all identified solutions necessary to affect repairComplete all work orders and time sheets in a timely mannerConsult, when necessary, with the DEUTZ Service Department ticket system to ensure the accuracy and approval of repairsEnsure vehicle parts inventory is maintained at a suitable level for first-call completions and local parts salesPerform all work in accordance with all established policies and proceduresAssist in the proper filing of warranty claims and customer invoicesFollow all DEUTZ employee policies and procedures, especially pertaining to travel and company credit cardsMaintains and cleans service trucks meeting DOT requirementsOther duties as assignedSkillsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Must be able to maintain DOT medical card statusMust have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the company4+ years of experience as a Shop Technician, 2+ years of experience as a Field Technician, or 2-3 years of experience as a Remote Field Service TechnicianStrong experience in diagnosis, and repair of NG/CNG, Tier 3-4 emissions level preferredAbility to develop exceptionally strong working knowledge of DEUTZ Diesel enginesAbility to work with minimal supervisionMeet all local/state and company requirements to operate a company-assigned service vehicleExcellent communication skills (writing, speaking in person, and over the phone)Proficient in the use of basic computer functions and portable diagnostic toolsMust have your own tools.
