[Remote] Remote Consulting Engineer - Industrial Regulatory

Intertek is a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, actively seeking a Consulting Engineer - Industrial Regulatory to join their Electrical team. This role involves providing independent engineering advice, conducting evaluations, and assisting clients in meeting regulatory and safety goals, with travel required at least 25% of the time.ResponsibilitiesIdentify, Research, Apply, and Communicate requirements of National codes and standardsGuide and Advise customers through the Certification process and help them achieve their regulatory and safety goalsIdentify required product testing, develop test plans, and prepare products to meet third-party test requirementsConduct detailed Design Reviews; Review products for compliance with standard requirements, identify potential gaps in compliance, document the resultsPerform technical assessments and analysis of specifications of projects and implement necessary solutionsProvide specialized "expertise" in several product categories, i.e., become subject matter expertLead client meetings, facilitate technical discussions, provide training classesProvide sales support for any and all product requirements including direct customer presentationsSupply information for quotes such as costs, project duration, resources and samples required, and standards that will be usedCommunicate project status to client, sales personnel, and management throughout projectPlay a variety of roles depending on projects, such as technical advisor, scientific researcher, project champion, project manager, among othersIdentify project needs and requirements for effective resource planning and meeting client's expectationsDelegate tasks to other team members to make sure the project is completed on a timely basisSkillsBachelor's degree in engineering5+ years of directly related experience; preference towards electrical, machinery, regulatory, safety, or compliance experienceExperience with UL, CSA, and IEC standards to demonstrate NRTL, CE marking and other regulatory compliance schemesPrevious experience with Datacenter and Power Distribution standards is a plus, including UL 2755, UL 1741, UL 857, UL 9540, UL 508AUnderstanding of Datacenter Technology, Energy Systems, and challenges of fast-to-market requirementsStrong understanding of Hazard Based Safety Engineering principlesAbility to travel up to 25%A valid driver's license and reliable driving recordModel Intertek's 10X Energies at all times within the work place, practicing business the right wayMaster's degree in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringPMP - Certified Project Management ProfessionalCMSE - Certified Machinery Safety ExpertPE LicenseExperience commissioning of large-scale projects, especially within the datacenter or energy space is a plusBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionLifeDisability401(k) with company matchGenerous vacation / sick time (PTO)Tuition reimbursementCompany OverviewDice is a job-searching platform for technology professionals.
