They are seeking a passionate and experienced Regional Human Resources Manager for the Americas to deliver strategic HR support, foster an inclusive culture, and ensure compliance across multiple countries.ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic HR partner to directors and regional teams supporting conservation programsAlign HR initiatives with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term conservation goalsSupport leaders in building engaged, high-performing teams across diverse environments, including field operationsPromote a mission-driven, inclusive, and respectful workplace cultureProvide guidance on employee relations matters with sensitivity to cultural and regional differencesLead initiatives that support employee well-being, engagement, and retentionHandle employee coaching, conflict resolution, and performance-related mattersCoordinate professional development opportunitiesEnsure organizational compliance with all local, state and country employment requirements, including annual training coursesManage HR operations across the Americas, including onboarding, offboarding, and HR systemsEnsure compliance with employment laws and regulations in the U.S., Latin America, Canada, and other regional jurisdictionsMaintain handbook and adapt HR policies for global consistency with local relevanceMaintain compliance with all legal requirements and HR best practices, with a proactive eye on reducing organizational riskOwn and manage HR information system (HRIS), including data integrity, reporting, and system enhancementsPartner with hiring managers to recruit diverse talent aligned with conservation valuesSupport workforce planning for programmatic and field-based rolesImplement learning and development initiatives to strengthen leadership and technical capabilitiesOversee Regions benefits administration & payroll, including annual open enrollment, leave management, and retirement plansAssist in developing equitable and competitive compensation structures within a non-profit frameworkManage benefits programs appropriate for multi-country staffSupport grant-funded staffing structures and ensure compliance with donor requirements where applicablePartners with operations staff to ensure payroll and other benefits are processed in a timely and accurate mannerAct as a key liaison between global HQ and regional teamsFacilitate communication and collaboration across multiple countries and culturesSupport change management initiatives in a dynamic, mission-driven environmentSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a non-profit, NGO, or mission-driven environmentExperience supporting multi-country teams across the AmericasKnowledge of employment laws and HR practices in the U.S. and Latin AmericaDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing, in professional and business environmentsApplicants need to have legal work authorization in United States or Costa RicaExperience working in conservation, environmental, or international development organizationsSHRM or other HR certification and/or a relevant degree a plusExperience supporting field-based or remote teams in challenging environmentsStrong work ethic coupled with enthusiastic and passionate approach to one's workHigh degree of professionalism and integrity; the ability to manage difficult situations with tact and diplomacyWillingness to travel approximately 10% of the time to support business needs, including meetings and organizational eventsBenefitsRegions benefits administration & payroll, including annual open enrollment, leave management, and retirement plansManage benefits programs appropriate for multi-country staffSupport grant-funded staffing structures and ensure compliance with donor requirements where applicablePartners with operations staff to ensure payroll and other benefits are processed in a timely and accurate manner.Company OverviewFounded in 2006, Panthera is devoted to the conservation of the world’s 40 species of wild cats and the vast ecosystems they inhabit.
