They are seeking a detail-oriented Regional Accounts Receivable Accountant responsible for managing carrier payment activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial accuracy and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesAccurately record and process incoming cash receipts from insurance carriersApply carrier payments to the appropriate policies, invoices, and accounts within the agency management systemEnsure all cash receipts are properly classified, documented, and maintained for audit and reporting purposesInvestigate and resolve discrepancies related to carrier payment applications and account balancesReconcile daily, weekly, and monthly cash receipts against bank statements, carrier remittance reports, and internal financial recordsIdentify and resolve variances between agency records and carrier payments in a timely and accurate mannerGenerate cash receipt, reconciliation, and cash flow reports to support financial reporting and operational decision-makingAssist with month-end and year-end close activities by ensuring all cash transactions are accurately recorded and reconciledPartner with insurance carriers to obtain remittance details and ensure proper payment allocationPrepare and distribute reports related to outstanding payments, unapplied cash, and reconciliation activityMaintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standardsSupport internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to carrier payment activityMonitor compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and industry regulationsIdentify opportunities to improve cash application, reconciliation, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errorsCollaborate with agency accounting teams and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and support operational objectivesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required1-3 years of accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, or related financial experience preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detailAbility to work effectively with high volumes of financial data while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partnersCommitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with professionalism and integrityAbility to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environmentExperience working within a Property & Casualty insurance brokerage environment preferredExperience with agency management systems such as Applied Epic or HawkSoft preferredExperience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferredBenefitsComprehensive health and welfare program to employees, family members and domestic partnersEmployees are eligible for benefits coverage the first of the month following 30 days of employment.Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) and Commuter Transit ProgramsCompany paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability and Group Term LifeCompany paid Employee Assistance ProgramPaid Parental LeavePaid holidaysPersonalized PTO401(k) with employer matchCompany OverviewPatriot is a national agency specializing in Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty and Personal insurance solutions.
