They are seeking a RAC Component Design Engineer (Ventilation) to design nuclear and industrial ventilation components and structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.ResponsibilitiesDesign nuclear and industrial ventilation components and structures from requirements definition through final designConduct engineering work in accordance with nuclear ventilation codes and standards (ASME AG-1, NQA-1, etc.)Perform fluid and structural calculations to verify the ventilation system designPrepare engineering change packages including calculations, design reports, design drawings, and design specificationsDevelop engineering designs supporting lifecycle factors including operability, maintainability, and reliabilityProvide technical direction and interface to supplier projects, working with supply chain teams to ensure delivery of engineering designs and other deliverables, as well as coordination and performance of technical reviews of deliverablesPromote continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering designInterface with and support licensing activities needed to obtain both the construction and operating licenses for the reactor systems including development of safety analysis reports, technical specifications, topical reports, and other licensing documentsParticipate in project design reviews at project milestones and periodic assessment points to verify compliance and completeness of designSkillsB.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university4+ years of relevant experience for Level 96+ years of relevant experience for Level 10Experience in developing the design of ASME AG-1 ventilation systems is requiredExperience in preparing design and procurement specificationsExperience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001Experience in originating and developing technical documentation for design, procurement, and constructionExcellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skillsAttention to detail and aspiration for technical excellenceCandidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and work within a design team with minimal directionAbility to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectivesAbility to work on simultaneous tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approachExport control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person statusBenefitsInsurance plan options (HDHP plan or POS plan)Education/certification reimbursementPre-tax commuter benefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)An administered 401k planCompany OverviewProtingent delivers the top-tier technical and IT professionals you need to power your business forward.
