They are seeking a Quality Engineer to guide the design for quality during product development and ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable standards. The role involves improving process capability and product quality during manufacturing, leading failure analysis, and interfacing with engineering and suppliers.ResponsibilitiesPrevent defects through use of process, supplier, manufacturing, and quality controlsDevelop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA, control plansEnsure product compliance through a comprehensive set of functional tests and inspectionsParticipate in the qualification of new suppliers and internal processesUnderstand sources of variation in the supply chain, manufacturing & test processes and control themAssist in the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes, through lean concepts and Six Sigma, while driving a lean quality cultureLead a robust root-cause and corrective action process, working with engineering, suppliers and customersOversee the effective review, implementation, and flow down of changes (ECOs) into manufacturing and the supply chain, including material disposition actionsDrive efficient processing of customer RMAs, effective failure analysis, and responsive communication to customersInterface and communicate with customers regularly, providing quality status as requiredFacilitate continuous improvement of product and processMonitor, measure and communicate metrics on a predicted cadencePrepare and deliver quality reviews with management, peer groups and customersReview customer score cards and ensure alignment of improvement initiatives to customer satisfaction; drive 8D corrective actionPromote adherence to the Quality Management System (AS9100), and drive improvementsSkillsBS in an engineering disciplineTypically requires a minimum of 4-6 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering, operations project management, or quality position for complex electromechanical assemblies and systemsExperience working in an environment with a Quality Management System (AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485, or similar)Experience leading a robust root-cause and corrective action process, working with engineering, suppliers and customersExperience supporting the design and development of products, acting as a quality lead within the development teamFamiliarity with the following workmanship criteria: IPC-A-610, IPC J-STDExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspection ReportsExperience supporting (design/development, production, field support/RMA) multiple products and projectsKnowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as soldering, machining, brazing/welding, painting and platingExperience with systems such as Product Lifecycle Management software (Agile or similar), ERP system (Oracle or similar), Manufacturing Execution System (Factory Logix or similar), and issue and project tracking software (Jira, Confluence, or similar)Proficiency with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)Understanding of GD&T requirementsBenefitsBonus opportunities (or special incentives for sales positions)Health, life and disability insuranceCompany-paid holidays and time off401(k) retirement planDiscounted employee stock purchase planTuition reimbursementAccess to professional development and personal wellness platforms including LinkedIn Learning, Headspace, Aaptiv and Virgin PulseTeam members at the Director or Vice President level are also eligible to receive annual stock-based awardsMercury offers a 9/80 alternative work schedule that provides employees more opportunity for work/ life balance (available based off location)Company OverviewMercury Systems is a leading commercial provider of secure sensor and safety-critical processing subsystems.
