[Remote] Quality Director - Trucking Operations

The Quality Director is responsible for overseeing operational performance, driving continuous improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesOversee and evaluate operational performance to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standardsTrain, coach, and mentor operations personnel and leadershipLead implementation of new technologies, processes, and operational initiativesConduct quality audits and ensure corrective actions are implementedManage and review all key performance indicators (KPIs)Lead KPI review meetings and communicate performance trends and gapsDrive continuous improvement initiatives across operationsSupport new operation start-ups, including project management of implementation plansDemonstrate a consistently positive and professional demeanor, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environmentEncourage constructive dialogue for the team, even during periods of change or challengeHandle sensitive information with discretion and integrity. Uphold confidentiality standards in all communications and decisions, ensuring trust and compliance with organizational policies and legal requirementsTrain and onboard new operations leadersDevelop and maintain continuous training programs, including audit frameworksCreate and manage SOPs and training materials for new systems and processesTrack and analyze operational KPIs and report variances from budgetFacilitate KPI meetings covering metrics such as:Revenue trendsSafety performanceReceivablesFuel efficiency (MPG, idle time, compliance)Preventative maintenance (PMs)Backhaul performance (if applicable)Manage projects and action items identified during KPI reviewsCoordinate and lead QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and MBRs (Monthly Business Reviews) with customersConduct surveys and audits related to customer, driver, and employee satisfactionIdentify and discreetly report operational issues and risksDevelop and execute process improvement strategiesRegularly evaluate operational workflows and performanceAssist in tracking, reporting, and analyzing driver and director bonus programsMaintain regular and reliable attendance, along with being available in an on-call statusPerform additional duties as assignedComply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulationsSkillsBachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)5+ years of experience in operations, quality management, or logistics leadership rolesProven experience managing KPIs, audits, and operational performanceExperience leading teams, training, and mentoring staffStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointExperience with data tracking and KPI reportingStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesProficiency with operational and logistics systems, including: TMW, TotalMail, PeopleNet, SamsaraFamiliarity with collaboration tools such as OneDrive and SharePointAbility to work and communicate effectively with others, promoting a team environmentAccepts constructive criticism with professionalism and uses it as a tool for continuous learning and skill enhancementEffectively communicates with personnel at all organizational levels, both internal and external, to foster collaboration and drive process improvementsStrong listening skills to fully understand customer concerns, able to respond with thoughtful solutions, and handle criticism constructively and without emotional reactivityExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsMaster's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related fieldExperience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain environmentsProject management experience, including leading system or process implementationsCertification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologiesAdvanced data analysis and reporting skillsExperience with process improvement and quality frameworksStrong presentation and facilitation skillsHigh level of organizational and project management capabilityAbility to influence and drive change across multiple operational teamsBenefitsCompetitive PayOpportunity for career advancementGenerous Vacation / Paid Time OffPaid Holidays401K with company match from day 1Medical, Dental, Vision InsuranceBasic and Supplemental Life InsuranceCompany OverviewVenture Solutions, is a 3PL division of Venture Logistics (over 23 years in the industry).
