[Remote] Quality Assurance / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to ensure the quality and performance of software systems supporting Department of Defense programs. The role involves developing automated testing solutions and collaborating with various teams to verify software releases meet all requirements before deployment.ResponsibilitiesServe as the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) authority for software products and releasesDevelop, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks supporting web, API, and microservices-based applicationsManage and execute automated test suites environmentsDesign and implement automated unit, integration, regression, end-to-end, and performance test suitesIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and automated quality gatesValidate software compliance with DoD, program, and cybersecurity requirementsCollaborate with development teams to establish test strategies and ensure comprehensive requirements, traceability and test coverageIdentify, document, track, and verify resolution of software defectsSupport software release readiness reviews and production deployment activitiesGenerate test plans, test procedures, test reports, and quality metrics for the customer and program leadershipParticipate in Agile meetings, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectivesSupport accreditation, cybersecurity assessments, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities by validating security controls and documenting test evidenceContribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on test automation, quality engineering, and DevSecOps maturitySkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field or qualified experience3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test engineering, or software development engineering in test (SDET) rolesExperience developing automated tests using Selenium or similar automation frameworksExperience with: End-to-End (E2E) Testing, Integration Testing, Unit Testing, Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps environmentsKnowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar platformsExperience with source control systems such as GitStrong reporting and documentation capabilitiesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsActive DoD Secret clearance required; DoD Top Secret clearance preferredAbility to obtain and maintain all required program access authorizationsMust comply with all applicable DoD cybersecurity, information assurance, and security policiesPreferred experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government programsExperience testing cloud-native applications hosted in AWS GovCloud, or similar environmentsFamiliarity with automated security testing and DevSecOps toolchainsExperience with JIRA, Selenium, SharePoint, and enterprise test management toolsISTQB Certified Tester preferredSAFe Agilist (SA) preferredDevSecOps Foundation or equivalent preferredCompany OverviewXcelerate Solutions is a company specialized in helping small businesses operate like big ones.
