[Remote] Quality Assurance Engineer II (LOC)

The Quality Assurance Engineer II will be responsible for executing functional, regression, and accessibility testing, as well as collaborating with developers to ensure quality in software delivery.ResponsibilitiesExecute functional, regression, and accessibility testing every sprint, validating stories against acceptance criteria and flagging merges that fail automated test gatesWrite and maintain manual and automated test cases using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright with moderate guidance from senior QA engineersRun Axe and pa11y accessibility scans on merge requests and document findings in Jira and Confluence aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA standardsValidate API behavior using Postman or Rest Assured as part of sprint-level testing coverageCollaborate with developers to write boilerplate and exploratory test cases for new functionality, reducing cognitive load and catching edge cases earlyContribute to CI/CD pipeline test instrumentation in GitLab, helping ensure tests run automatically at every build and check-inParticipate in load and performance testing activities, supporting validation of system capacity and stabilityParticipate in SAFe ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives, building understanding of the overall program testing strategyAsk questions during design and architecture discussions to ensure systems are built with testability in mind from the startSkills3+ years of relevant QA engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degreeMust meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation as a condition of employmentProficiency with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or PlaywrightExperience developing test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing scenariosFamiliarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Rest AssuredWorking knowledge of accessibility testing tools including Axe and pa11yExperience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and working within GitLab or equivalent version control environmentsFamiliarity with load and performance testing concepts and toolsSolid understanding of agile testing methodologies and how QA integrates into a sprint-based delivery modelPrior experience with federal agency digital services or government contracting environmentsFamiliarity with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance testingExperience with manual assistive technology testing using JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOverExposure to SAFe or scaled Agile delivery frameworksFamiliarity with Cucumber Gherkin or behavior-driven development testing approachesExperience with performance testing tools such as NeoLoad, JMeter, or TaurusBenefitsCompany-subsidized health, dental, and vision insuranceFlexible PTO401K with employer matchPaid parental leave after one year of serviceEmployee Assistance ProgramCompany OverviewAd Hoc is a digital services company that helps the federal government better serve people.
