[Remote] QA Tester (17557)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Baer Group is seeking a QA Tester for a 9+ month Federal remote project. The QA Tester will be responsible for executing planned testing activities, maintaining high standards of test and defect management, and ensuring software quality through accurate testing results.ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain test scripts based on business requirements and process flowsEnsure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defectsExecute test cases across various testing phases, including: Unit Testing Support, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Capture and maintain testing evidence and resultsLog, triage, retest, and verify defectsEnsure defect records are complete with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, test data, and severity classificationsSupport test data preparation and perform environment smoke testingMonitor daily test execution progress and report basic testing metrics, including planned vs. executed tests and pass/fail statusAssist in coordinating test cycles by managing schedules, invitations, tester onboarding, and issue follow-upsMaintain testing repositories and documentation standards within tools such as Jira, ALM, Solution Manager, or Cloud ALMFollow established testing processes, naming conventions, and quality standardsSkillsUnited States Citizen with Active Secret ClearanceUnderstanding of software testing principles and defect management processesExperience creating and executing test cases and test scriptsFamiliarity with testing tools such as Jira, ALM, Solution Manager, or similar platformsStrong attention to detail and documentation skillsAbility to track progress, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlinesPrevious experience in software quality assurance or testing activitiesKnowledge of SIT, UAT, and defect lifecycle managementBachelors DegreeCompany OverviewThe Baer Group provides information technology recruting services.
