[Remote] QA Engineer

The role involves collaborating with developers and product managers to identify defects, verify functionality, and maintain high standards of software quality through detailed reporting and testing.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases based on product requirements and specificationsExecute manual test cases to verify the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications across various platforms and devicesIdentify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear), providing clear and detailed reproduction stepsWork closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure defects are resolved effectivelyPerform regression testing to ensure new changes do not negatively impact existing functionalitySupport user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios and assisting end-users during testing phasesMaintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation, including test cases, test results, and defect reportsAdvocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices and standardsSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testingFamiliarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla)Basic knowledge of software development processesExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills to articulate defects and collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience testing web and/or mobile applicationsFamiliarity with basic scripting or automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman) is a plus but not requiredKnowledge of SQL for database testing is an advantageCompany OverviewVectorShift Builds, designs, prototypes, and deploys custom generative AI workflows.
