As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of the software, collaborating with various teams to integrate automated testing and improve quality across the development lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end workflowsContinuously expand automated test coverage using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or SeleniumPartner closely with developers to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure quality is built into every releaseCreate and maintain test plans, test cases, and quality processes that support rapid product developmentCollaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to review requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories to ensure clear, testable outcomesValidate front-end, back-end, and AI-enabled functionality across multiple products and platformsIdentify, document, and track defects through resolution using established quality assurance methodologiesAssess production readiness and validate release quality prior to deploymentDevelop and execute API, integration, and backend validation testing using modern testing frameworks and toolsVerify data integrity, system interoperability, and reliability across connected services and external integrationsDesign and execute performance and scalability testing scenarios to evaluate system responsiveness and stabilityTroubleshoot issues related to APIs, databases, and distributed system interactionsSupport weekly production releases through testing coordination, validation, and stakeholder communicationDeliver demonstrations of completed functionality and provide feedback to development teamsAnalyze quality trends and recommend improvements to testing strategies, tooling, and processesHelp shape the future of quality engineering at Slingshot by introducing new tools, frameworks, and best practicesSkills3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Quality EngineeringExperience designing and implementing automated testing strategies and frameworksProficiency with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or SeleniumExperience testing modern web applications built with technologies such as React, Node.js, Python, TypeScript, and DockerStrong understanding of APIs, backend services, and databases, including REST, GraphQL, and SQLExperience working within CI/CD environments and modern software development workflowsExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teamsExperience owning end-to-end quality certification for major product releasesExperience testing AI-enabled products, machine learning workflows, or data-driven applicationsExperience with performance, load, integration, and API testing frameworksFamiliarity with identity and access management (IAM), authentication, and authorization conceptsExperience documenting manual test cases and maintaining test repositories using tools such as TestRailExperience supporting release management activities in fast-paced SaaS environmentsInterest in space, aerospace, defense, or national security technologiesActive TS/SCI clearanceCompany OverviewSlingshot Aerospace builds space data, analytics, and simulation solutions.
