Job Title: Remote Prompt Engineer – GenAI Model Tuning Job Type: Contract / Freelance Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere) Duration: Contract-based (3–6 months, extendable based on performance) Experience Level: Mid-Level to Senior Job Summary: We are seeking a highly analytical and creative Prompt Engineer to support Generative AI (GenAI) model tuning initiatives. In this contract role, you will design, test, refine, and optimize prompts to improve model accuracy, reasoning, safety, and output quality across a range of use cases. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong understanding of LLM behavior and hands-on experience with prompt engineering techniques. Key Responsibilities: • * Design and iterate high-quality prompts for text, code, and multimodal GenAI models • * Evaluate model responses and systematically improve outputs through prompt refinement • * Collaborate with ML engineers, researchers, and product teams on model tuning strategies • * Develop prompt libraries, templates, and evaluation frameworks • * Perform A/B testing and benchmarking of prompt variants • * Identify failure modes, biases, hallucinations, and edge cases in model outputs • * Document best practices, learnings, and prompt optimization guidelines • * Support fine-tuning, RLHF, or instruction-tuning workflows where applicable • Required Skills & Qualifications: • * Strong experience working with LLMs (e.g., GPT-style, open-source transformer models) • * Proven expertise in prompt engineering, prompt chaining, and instruction design • * Solid understanding of NLP concepts and model behavior • * Ability to analyze outputs critically and apply structured improvement techniques • * Proficiency with Python or scripting for evaluation and experimentation • * Familiarity with AI safety, alignment, and evaluation metrics • * Excellent written communication and documentation skills • Preferred Qualifications: • * Experience with GenAI platforms and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models, etc.) • * Background in ML, data science, linguistics, cognitive science, or software engineering • * Experience with fine-tuning workflows, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) • * Prior work on production AI systems or AI research projects • Contract Details & Compensation: • * Competitive hourly or project-based compensation (based on experience) • * Fully remote and asynchronous-friendly work environment • * Flexible working hours with milestone-based delivery • * Opportunity for contract extension or long-term collaboration • Why Join Us: You will work at the cutting edge of Generative AI, directly influencing how models reason, respond, and perform in real-world applications.
