The Project Safety Manager I implements the RES System on various energy projects and promotes a safety culture through coaching, training, and compliance with safety regulations.ResponsibilitiesPromotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and trainingActs as subject matter expert and liaison for health and safety for the project team and clientServes as a key liaison to regulatory agencies and third parties during audits, inspections, and incident investigationsPrioritizes, as needed, the daily, weekly, and monthly goals and tasks for other Project Safety Specialist working on the projectDevelops and maintains site-specific documentation, including the Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plan, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Site OrientationOversees Permit to Work processesDelivers training on Safety Initiatives, Site Orientation, Work Instructions, Safety Management System (SMS) requirements, and regulatory requirementsLeads safety-related discussions at Plan of the Day (POD) Meetings, All Hands Meetings, Tailgate Meetings, Staff Meetings, Kickoff/Preparatory, and Client/Owner MeetingsLeads the implementation of project safety incentive programsInspects work areas to verify consistency with procedural, client, and regulatory requirementsProcures, distributes, and maintains safety-related materials and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the projectConducts Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective ActionsDevelops Incident Reports to support findings from Incident InvestigationsDrives implementation of proposed Corrective Actions to completionMaintains incident data and safety metrics to compile reportsFacilitates injury managementCoordinates emergency response effortsFacilitates Drug and Alcohol Testing ProcedureOperates company vehicle safely to drive to various site locationsAttends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expectedComplies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & ProceduresPresent, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitudeAssists in development of Risk Assessments and Work InstructionsMonitors weather conditions and manages severe weather responseCommunicates safety-related incidents to Corporate Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) Department, across business unit and the organizationPerforms ad hoc job-related duties/functions and projects to support the Project Safety Manager II and/or HSQE DepartmentInspect work areas to verify consistency with procedural, client, and regulatory requirementsCommunicate safety related incidents to Corporate Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) Department, across business unit, and the organizationLeads Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective ActionsDevelop Incident Reports to support findings from Incident InvestigationsAssist HSQE Department in the development of 'Safety Alerts' related to incident to help create awareness across the business unit and organizationDrives implementation of proposed Corrective Actions to completionImplement Corporate Drug and Alcohol Testing ProcedureMaintain incident data and safety metrics to compile reportsFacilitate audits and inspections by third parties and regulatory agenciesProcure, distribute, and maintain safety related tools and equipment for the projectPerforms any other job-related duties/functions requested by the Senior Safety Supervisor and/or HSQE DepartmentSkillsHigh school/GED required3 or more years of Construction Industry Safety experience requiredOSHA 30 Certification requiredValid Driver's License requiredDomestic and International travel 76-100% requiredBachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety related field preferred5 or more years of Construction Industry Safety experience preferred3 or more years Energy/Utility Industry Safety experience preferredCertification Emergency Medical Technician preferredCertification CHST/CUSP/OHST/NCSO preferredCertification First Aid/CPR/AED preferredCertification CSP/ASP/GSP/SMP/CRSP/CHSC preferredCertification NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 preferredOSHA 510 Certification preferredOSHA 500 Certification preferredBenefitsMedical, Dental, Prescription, and VisionHealth Savings Account with employer contributionFlexible Spending Accounts4x pay Basic Life and Voluntary LifeShort and Long Term DisabilityAccident, Hospital, and Critical Illness401 (k) plan with 6% company match4 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) and 10 Paid HolidaysTuition Reimbursement and Green Car ReimbursementVolunteer and Charity MatchingPaid Parental Leave and Paid Sabbatical LeaveEmployee Referral BonusEmployee Discounts and Wellness programsWellness ReimbursementCompany OverviewRES is the worldโ€™s largest independent renewable energy company, working across 24 countries and active in wind, solar, energy storage, green hydrogen, transmission, and distribution.
