[Remote] Project Manager, State Government Solutions - VT - Remote

The Project Manager role focuses on supporting the Vermont Health Insurance Exchange team in planning, coordinating, and tracking project activities, while providing opportunities for growth in project management within healthcare technology. Responsibilities • Assist in developing project artifacts (plans, schedules, documentation) in partnership with leadership and stakeholders • Support the PMO team in defining project scope, identifying risks, and applying established project management techniques • Track team assignments and monitor progress against deliverables • Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and professional project updates for internal and external stakeholders • Support the documentation and reporting process, including weekly, monthly, and annual client reports • Facilitate team meetings and contribute to discussions that drive delivery • Assist in maintaining project documentation repositories (eg, SharePoint, Azure DevOps) • Support compliance with software standards, best practices, and contractual obligations • Contribute to budget tracking and forecasting activities • Identify opportunities for process improvements, knowledge sharing, and adoption of emerging technologies • Work with project managers and technical staff to build a solid foundation of project management and practical expertise Skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Proven solid interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships in a professional environment • Proven excellent ability to express complex concepts professionally both verbally and in written form • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to learn • PMP or CAPM certification (or willingness to pursue) • Experience gathering and documenting business or technical requirements • Exposure to healthcare or regulated industries • Familiarity with project and software development lifecycles • Understanding of state and federal security policies and guidelines (HIPAA, CMS) • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Benefits • Comprehensive benefits package • Incentive and recognition programs • Equity stock purchase • 401k contribution Company Overview • Optum is a healthcare company that provides pharmacy services, health care operations, and population health management.
