[Remote] Project Manager (Project Position)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Project Manager for its Workday and Enterprise Solutions Team. This role involves providing advanced technical and strategic guidance for IT projects, managing vendor workflows, and ensuring successful project delivery in support of the Enterprise Document Management System and EAP Acceleration Program.ResponsibilitiesSchedules and facilitates communication for the integration of vendor workflow and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables for moderately complex, multi-unit projectsCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align project goals with broader organizational priorities and requirementsProvides advanced technical and analytical guidance to project teams. Identifies and estimates tasks, applies established project management, process improvement, and budget and cost analysis methodologies to identify obstacles and drive project completionServes as a main point of contact for clients in the development and implementation of multi-unit, moderately complex projectsWorks actively to foster a respectful, inclusive and safe team environmentDrafts and delivers project status communications and reportsSkillsBachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field requiredProven track record of leading successful multi-unit, complex projects, preferably in a higher education or public sector environmentAdvanced proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approachesExpertise in risk management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communicationExperience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or Microsoft ProjectDemonstrated ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levelsDemonstrated ability to work effectively within complex stakeholder environments that include multiple business units, technical teams, and governance groups, often with evolving requirements, competing priorities, and shared decision-making responsibilitiesExcellent facilitation and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to resolve conflicts and build consensusStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutionsExperience facilitating discussions and driving alignment among diverse stakeholder groups, ranging from detailed technical teams to executive leadership, while navigating ambiguity and influencing outcomes when ownership and decision authority are not clearly definedAbility to translate technical and operational details into clear, actionable updates and visualization aids for non-technical audiencesProven ability to balance strategic objectives with detailed project execution, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations for stakeholders at all levels of the organizationAdvanced degree preferredCertification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar credentials is strongly preferred7+ years of experience in Data Warehouse and Enterprise Document ManagementExperience working with or supporting initiatives related to Workday, Data Warehouse, or other ERP systemsBenefitsA comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time offCompetitively priced health/dental/vision/life insuranceTax-advantaged savings accountsParticipation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fundCompany OverviewUW School of Medicine and Public Health offers graduate programs, health professions programs, and innovative research.
