[Remote] Project Manager, Network Monitoring and Telemetry
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Zayo Group provides mission-critical bandwidth to impactful companies, and they are seeking a Technical Project Manager for Network Monitoring and Telemetry. The role involves overseeing projects related to network performance, security, monitoring, and telemetry, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop and maintain project plans based on groom migration and optimization initiatives
ā¢ Coordinate large project kickoff meetings; inter - regional coordination meetings, etc
ā¢ Perform daily PM operational tasks for the business, working across multiple internal and external teams
ā¢ Build, maintain, and report operational metrics for end-to-end milestone management
ā¢ Manage existing reports and dashboards
ā¢ Monitor project pipeline for additional optimization synergies with ongoing projects
ā¢ Update internal systems to forecast budget and prepare internal expense change orders
ā¢ Report weekly and quarterly metrics and deliverables
ā¢ Assist management on updates and modifications of any process changes to the existing planning, engineering or grooming process
ā¢ Communicate and coordinate plans and strategies with other functional areas including sales, product, engineering, procurement, network operations and field operations
ā¢ Provide cost and schedule analyses for projects
ā¢ Program manages the large project queue (project tracker)
Skills
ā¢ Bachelors' degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or eight years' of relevant telecommunications experience
ā¢ Minimum of five years of project management experience, with 3 years specifically in the telecommunications industry, managing large-scale projects such as network deployments, infrastructure upgrades, or service rollouts
ā¢ Familiarity/experience of optical fiber technical specifications, testing, and link engineering fundamentals
ā¢ Familiarity with DWDM network architectures (i.e. FOADM/ROADM/PON/fixed and flex grid) and signal flow
ā¢ Familiarity/experience with the following network platforms: Ciena / Cyan / Nortel, Infinera, Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, ADVA, Fujitsu, CradlePoint/Carrier SIM Ordering
ā¢ Understanding of network design, IP subnetting, and routing protocols
ā¢ Experience with multiple types of telecommunications facility environments
ā¢ Experience in managing third-party telecommunications partners
ā¢ Proven experience in documenting process workflows
ā¢ Proficiency in the MS Office suite of tools with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint is required or similar Google G Suite tools
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication/negotiating skills required toward technical/non-technical audiences
ā¢ Ability to work with minimal supervision while being a constructive contributor to a team
ā¢ Effective time management skills and critical thinking
ā¢ Ability/willingness to operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment
ā¢ Familiarity with Metasolv/M6 database is a plus
ā¢ Knowledge of Salesforce.com platform is a plus
