[Remote] Project Manager, Legal & Tax

They are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Legal & Tax to lead cross-functional initiatives related to tax planning, compliance, corporate structuring, and regulatory matters while overseeing outside tax counsel and ensuring alignment with the firm’s objectives.ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of tax and legal projects, defining objectives, timelines, budgets, and success metricsDevelop detailed project plans; establish clear ownership and prioritization; monitor progress and report status to senior stakeholdersManage outside tax counsel and other advisors, including scoping engagements, tracking deliverables, and monitoring spend against budgetDocument and improve legal and tax processes; design operating models for new structures, regulatory requirements, and compliance initiatives; identify opportunities for efficiency and risk reductionCommunicate clearly with senior leadership, providing concise updates, sound recommendations, and managing change to ensure adoption of new processesMentor junior team members or analysts supporting legal and tax workstreamsProvide additional support to the broader Legal team on operational or strategic initiatives as neededSkills5+ years of relevant experience in project managementProven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments, including coordination with outside counselBachelor's degree required; JD, CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree a plusAuthorization to work in the United StatesExposure to the following is a plus, but not required: tax, legal operations, or related functions, ideally within a hedge fund, asset manager, law firm, or professional services environmentBenefitsOffers BonusHighly competitive compensation and benefits packagesTechnology talks by our expertsA beautiful modern officeDaily catered lunches$7,500 if your referred candidate is successfully hired and employed by The Voleon GroupCompany OverviewThe Voleon Group is a family of companies committed to the development & deployment of cutting-edge technologies in investment management.
