[Remote] Project Manager, JSHS

The National Science Teaching Association is dedicated to transforming science education nationwide, and they are seeking a Project Manager for the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) program. This role involves coordinating the planning, execution, and operations of the JSHS, ensuring effective delivery through collaboration with various stakeholders and managing program compliance and reporting.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate execution of the JSHS program cycle ensuring alignment across regional and national program componentsCoordinate planning and execution of the National JSHS event, including logistics management, stakeholder coordination, and on-site deliveryDevelop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones; proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategiesEnsure program implementation aligns with sponsor expectations, contractual requirements, and organizational goalsLead the annual subaward process for regional partners, including RFP development, application coordination, review facilitation, and award executionManage relationships with sub-awardee institutions, ensuring clarity of expectations, consistency of program delivery, and accountability for outcomesOversee scholarship and award distribution processes in alignment with program policiesPartner with grants and finance teams to support compliance, documentation, and reporting requirementsServe as a primary point of contact for regional program operators and key external stakeholdersManage ongoing communication with DoW partners in coordination with senior leadership, ensuring transparency and responsivenessFacilitate cross-functional coordination across internal teams, partners, and vendorsLead meetings, provide program updates, and resolve complex issues impacting program deliveryOversee program systems, tools, and data infrastructure to support efficient operations and accurate reportingEnsure integrity and accessibility of program data, documentation, and recordsCollaborate with evaluation partners to support data collection, analysis, and continuous program improvementManage digital platforms (e.g., website, application systems) to ensure effective user experienceIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance program efficiency, scalability, and participant experienceSupport program planning and innovation initiatives, including pilots and new initiativesAnalyze program performance data to inform decision-making and recommendationsPartner with communications staff to support program outreach, visibility, and stakeholder engagementCoordinate preparation of sponsor deliverables, including annual plans, progress reports, and program summariesRepresent the program externallyWork collaboratively across consortium partners, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated program deliveryProvide direction and oversight to vendors, consultants, and project support staff, as neededContribute to a high-performing, mission-driven team environmentTravel required for the National JSHS event, NSTA fall conference, bi-annual consortium meetings, and occasional regional site visitsAdditional travel may be required for support of other programs and stakeholder engagementSkillsStrong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder programsAbility to operate independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive resultsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with external partnersStrong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and process improvementProficiency with project management tools, Microsoft Office, and collaboration platformsBachelor's degree required4–6+ years of project or program management experienceExperience supporting federally funded programs, grants, or competitions preferredExperience coordinating cross-functional teams or complex programsPMP certification or equivalent training is a plusFamiliarity with STEM education programs or military-affiliated initiatives is desirableBenefitsUnlimited vacationRemote work environmentComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceSick leavePaid parental leaveA retirement plan with a generous employer matchProfessional developmentCompany OverviewNational Science Teachers Association is a member-driven organization committed to promoting science teaching and learning for all.
