[Remote] Project Engineering Manager

The Project Engineering Manager will lead commissioning efforts across projects, overseeing activities such as reviewing test results and liaising with contractors and vendors to ensure successful project transitions from execution to operations.ResponsibilitiesPerform early-stage engineering for utility scale energy storage projectsReview project design drawings from EPC contractors, vendors and utility partnersParticipate in regular calls with EPC contractors, vendors and utility partnersWork with supervisor to engage with 3rd party engineers performing EPC and Balance of plant design for Aypa’s projectsWork with the Procurement and Pre-Construction teams to review and validate technical exhibits in contractual documentsWork with the Construction team to manage engineering tasks during constructionWork with EPC contractors, vendors and utility partners to validate SCADA designSupport commissioning efforts for BESS, Solar PV, and Hybrid projects across the Aypa portfolio of projectsCoordinate commissioning and other testing between Project contractors, equipment vendors, AHJs, and Utilities/Grid operatorsReview and validate commissioning test results and documents generated by Project contractors and equipment vendorsCreate in-house tools and templates for standardization and reduce effort invested in repetitive tasksSupport transitioning of projects from Execution to OperationsMentor junior project engineers and act as SMEPerform ad-hoc projects and duties as required or assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a reputed/accredited university6 to 8 years of experience in project engineering of Utility Scale BESS, PV, and Hybrid projectsStrong fundamentals in Electrical Engineering with the ability to self-perform varied scopes of workStrong understanding of BESS and PV project design, commissioning procedures and processesFamiliarity with general electrical and substation commissioning procedures and processesFamiliarity with various grid operator design and commissioning requirements, such as ERCOT and CAISO metering requirements and commissioning processesFamiliarity with various BESS and PV technologiesHigh-level understanding of Grid-scale renewable energy project development, specifically Energy Storage and PV systemsFunctional understanding of SCADA design for renewable energy projectsStrong time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and engineering team initiativesBenefitsExcellent health care / dental / vision401k matchingUnlimited vacationOther health/wellness benefitsCompany OverviewAypa Power builds, owns, and manages large-scale renewable energy projects to enhance grid stability and reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
