They are seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to join their Federal Engineering & Design Team, responsible for producing and coordinating electrical designs for federal projects while ensuring compliance with standards and project objectives.ResponsibilitiesPerforms detailed electrical engineering tasks including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical system design for federal engineering and design projectsPrepares electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, project cost estimates, and bid-related documentation in compliance with applicable federal standards, codes, and agency-specific requirementsIndependently execute moderately complex electrical design assignments, applying sound engineering judgment, problem-solving skills, and risk awareness throughout project executionServes as a technical liaison between federal clients, contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams to coordinate deliverables, resolve technical issues, and support project schedulesCoordinates electrical design efforts with multidisciplinary teams and Olsson project teams to ensure integrated, constructible, and high-quality project outcomesWorks closely with project managers to support project planning, cost control, procurement coordination, progress tracking, and communication of potential technical or schedule-related challengesParticipates in site visits and inspections, provides technical support during installation, and supports testing and commissioning activities to verify electrical systems perform as intendedReviews, coordinates, and may provide oversight or mentorship to less experienced engineers and technical staffSupports quality assurance and quality control processes by performing design reviews, field observations, and documentation of design changes, testing results, and key project milestonesPrepares clear and concise project reports and technical summaries for clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership as requiredTravel and participation in project charrettes, design reviews, and value engineering conferencesEnsures all electrical designs and installations align with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, applicable federal agency requirements, and environmental regulationsSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license is requiredMinimum 6 years of experience in electrical design, ideally with federal clientsProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and other relevant design softwareDeep understanding of DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processesStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and federal stakeholdersBenefitsReceive a competitive 401(k) matchBe empowered to build your career with tailored development pathsHave the possibility for flexible work arrangementsEngage in work that has a positive impact on communitiesParticipate in a wellness program promoting balanced lifestylesFull-time employees will receive our traditional benefits package (health care, vision, dental, paid time off, etc.)Opportunity to participate in a bonus system that rewards performanceCompany OverviewOlsson is an engineering and design firm that focuses on improving the communities it serves.
