[Remote] Project Accountant - Billing

The role involves managing billing activities, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining client billing files while collaborating with various business partners across the organization.ResponsibilitiesInterprets approved contract terms and conditions and builds commercial terms into the accounting system and working documents to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognitionEnsure billing activities are completed accurately and timelyPrepare client invoices and back up in a timely and accurate mannerMaintain detailed client billing files ensuring billings do not exceed approved client budgets/purchased orders, communicate the need for change orders with business partners and clientsWork with Program Management and clients on invoices, change orders, approvals, contract changesManage work in progress and discrepancies with business partners and maintain record keeping by saving emails, files and client backupsMonitor program billing rates on a regular basis as requiredValidates contract pricing in billing system and updates fee structure as appropriateMaintain records of routine accounting transactions, ensuring internal processes are properly documented, compliant and controlledEnsure work is accurate, complete, and revenue is recognized and booked in Sage, in accordance with current revenue recognition policiesWork with Program Management and client on aged outstanding invoicesProactively manage the relationship with Business unit teams including being accountable for understanding Business Units billing and processes while communicating issues to Finance ManagementSupport Finance Team wide process improvement initiativesEstablishment and maintenance of client project codes related to respective Business UnitsCollaborate with multiple business partners across the organization to review and approve the invoices issued, review and work through reporting issues, automate reporting, streamline processes and maintain file records for any process change managementPrepare ad hoc client requests as necessary including internal and external auditsPerform other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor degree in accounting preferredAdvanced skills in Microsoft ExcelAbility to work with multiple teams across the organizationStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingBasic knowledge of accounting practices and principlesStrong interpersonal skillsPrior billing and industry experience is an assetUnderstanding of Patient Support Programs preferredPrior experience in SAGE an assetBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision careBackup dependent careAdoption assistanceInfertility coverageFamily building supportBehavioral health solutionsPaid parental leavePaid caregiver leaveA variety of training programsProfessional development resourcesOpportunities to participate in mentorship programsEmployee resource groupsVolunteer activitiesCompany OverviewCencora is a global healthcare company that advances the development and delivery of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.
