[Remote] Project Accountant

They are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support high-volume project billing, manage municipal client requirements, and work independently in a remote environment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and submit accurate invoices under tight monthly deadlines with detailed billing and compliance requirementsEnter and maintain billing terms, contract amendments, and subconsultant invoices in Deltek VantagepointWork closely with Project Managers of varying experience levels to review draft invoices, supporting documentation, and backup reportsIdentify and resolve billing issues independently ensuring accuracy and complianceSubmit invoices through client portals and billing systems, track approvals and rejections, and manage revisions as neededCoordinate with subconsultants to review invoices for contractual compliance, accuracy, and client-specific requirementsPerform accounts receivable review and assist with collection efforts in coordination with project teamsOpen, maintain, and close projects in Deltek Vantagepoint in alignment with contract terms and internal controlsSkillsPrior experience in project accounting or project billing within a consulting, engineering, or professional services environmentDemonstrated ability to manage a high volume of invoices while balancing varying levels of complexityExperience working with municipal or public sector clients and their billing requirementsStrong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines independentlyClear and professional communication skills and comfort working directly with Project ManagersHigh attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over work productProficiency with Microsoft Excel, PDF tools, and Windows-based applicationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experienceExperience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint is strongly preferredBenefitsFully remote work environmentCompetitive compensation based on experience, skills, and geographic locationComprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coveragePre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportationShort- and long-term disability coverage and employer-paid life insurancePaid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time offEmployer-contributed 401(k) plan with additional financial planning supportCompany OverviewHazen and Sawyer has focused on two things: providing safe drinking water and controlling water pollution.
