[Remote] Program Manager, EpiC and STRIDES

FHI 360 is a global health and development organization, and they are seeking a Program Manager to oversee a portfolio of countries implementing the STRIDES and EpiC projects. The role involves managing project activities, ensuring compliance, and leading project start-up, workplan and budget development, while liaising with in-country teams and other departments.ResponsibilitiesManages and oversees the development of projects from initiation to completionManages capacity building project staff in coordinating and managing the implementation of project activities, delivering quality and accountabilityDevelops and delivers a project management plan encompassing all the details of a project to the team membersProvides guidance and monitoring for project staff, ensuring clarity over project plans and priorities, and encouraging effective teamworkDefines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals and strategic vision of managementDevelops and delivers project workplans, documentation, training, presentations and budget proposals to management and staffIdentifies and resolves project issues and implements improvement plans to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budgetEvaluates the progress of the project on a regular basisBuilds, develops, and grows partnerships vital to the success of the projectManages the operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects in a matrix environment. Oversees country workplans with focus on minimizing risk across multiple projects, monitors budgets, and scope to ensure successful execution of project(s) deliverables and completion of project(s)Manages the development of project teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; also, to develop and implement process improvement plansIdentifies partnerships, opportunities, and information to present to management to help achieve strategic goals of the companyKeeps abreast of the latest strategies, tools and terminologies used in project management worldwide to adopt and increase productivityPerforms other duties as assignedEstablishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the projectDetermines the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project. Develops a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activitiesBuilds and implements the best practices for performing all tasksReviews the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as requiredDetermines the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completionExecutes the project according to the project planAuthors reports on the project for management and for funders. Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements. Develops best practices and tools for project execution and managementMonitors and approves all budgeted project expendituresMonitors cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly)Manages all project funds according to established accounting policies and proceduresEnsures that all financial records for the project are up to datePrepares financial reports and supporting documentation for funders as outlined in funding agreementCoaches, mentors, and manages project team to ensure quality, efficiency and compliance with project and company standards/policiesProvides guidance and monitoring for project staff, ensuring clarity over project plans and priorities, and encouraging effective teamworkManages the development of project teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; also, to develop and implement process improvement plansDevelops tools and techniques for delegating tasks according to the skills of every team member and also to evaluate the performance of all team membersEnsures that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the projectSkillsBachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Health, Nutrition, International Development, Social Science or a Related Field8+ years of relevant experience with project management principles and practices2+ years of line management experienceExperience supervising senior level staffProfessional proficiency in SpanishMasters preferredProject Management (PM) Certification preferredPrior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organizationPrior experience starting up new programs internationally preferredPrevious experience working on global health projects including USG and PEPFAR supported programs preferredFluency in Spanish preferredInternational or domestic (US) program development or project management preferredBenefitsFHI 360 contributes 7% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account.All US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year.Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.Company OverviewFHI 360 is a human development organization that works to build the capacity of individuals, communities, and countries.
