[Remote] Program Coordinator

The Battery Network is the nation’s premier battery collection and recycling nonprofit, dedicated to promoting sustainability and a circular economy. They are seeking a Program Coordinator to manage battery stewardship programs, ensuring compliance and supporting partnerships with stakeholders and collection sites. Responsibilities Serve as the program ambassador and first-level contact for customers (i.e. collection sites), helping to deliver program value throughout the customer journey Onboard customers by serving as the subject matter expert through all stages of the onboarding process, blending both individual touches and automation Manage a high-volume of activities from multiple sources (via phone, email, website) in a timely and accurate manner Maintain regular outreach via site visits, phone, and email to support customer satisfaction and meet key performance indicators Work collaboratively with senior leadership, project teams, and internal departments to optimize the account relationship, enhance collection program performance, and ensure that customer needs are understood and satisfied Maintain complete customer records in a timely and accurate manner Compile data-based metrics and analyze results to monitor program performance and customer activity through dashboards and reports and make recommendations for continuous improvement Ensure regulated state performance goals are met, including accessibility targets (e.g., number of collection sites) and total battery collection volumes Partner with the Customer Success team to ensure collection site requests are addressed promptly and effectively Prepare for and attend relevant recycling conferences in region Skills Bachelor's degree with at least one (1) year of proven program management or customer support experience, such as sales, customer service, or another related field, OR In lieu of a degree, 3 or more years of relevant experience in inside sales or customer service may suffice Understands the interdependence of activities to deliver best-in-class sustainability and recycling initiatives Embodies a thirst for learning and a curious nature Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network, with or without sponsorship Experience supporting high-growth, customer-facing initiatives with a track record of driving change and innovation Ability to manage multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines Able to thrive in new programs where processes and procedures are still evolving Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM software a plus Ability to analyze, think quickly, and apply innovative solutions Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including connecting effectively via phone Strong relationship-building and customer service orientation Able to guide program staff collaboratively and work effectively with colleagues at all levels Ability to exercise discretion, work autonomously, and maintain a sense of urgency when needed Strong planning and prioritization skills, with ability to think strategically for both short- and long-term objectives Able to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a rapidly evolving environment Quick grasp of business concepts; general understanding of the recycling industry a plus Working knowledge or experience in environmental, sustainability, retail, or non-profit environments, with exposure to environmental regulations a plus Interest in and ability to flourish in a mission-driven organization that values culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location (home office) and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network Travel (up to ~50%) to support the Regional State Stewardship Manager with customer visits, training, or meetings, and to attend occasional organization-wide meetings Benefits Annual, impact-based bonus Flexible scheduling Company Overview Turning yesterday’s batteries into tomorrow’s power.
