[Remote] Product Owner II — Sales & Solution Design

The Product Owner II — Sales & Solution Design role involves engaging with Sales and leading Solution Design efforts to ensure commitments are aligned with deliverable capabilities.ResponsibilitiesRetrieve open commitments, customer questions, and Solution Design outputs from Sales and Solutions ArchitectsTranslate sales-cycle commitments into clearly defined Epics so Product Owners can plan and prioritize accordinglyHand off Solution Design documents, BRDs, and well-defined work to Delivery POs with minimal reworkIdentify systemic issues and bring them to the Group Product Manager with a recommended path forwardOwn the product-side response to technical and product expert questions on RFPs — contributing directly and coordinating with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and SMEs when deeper domain knowledge is neededLead customer-facing Solution Design and BRD sessions, engaging Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and UI/UX designers as the scope requiresAuthor or co-author SOW solution language — precise, contractually defensible, and clear enough for Delivery POs to act on laterReview proposals before submission for product feasibility, roadmap alignment, and accuracy — flagging risks or gaps to the Group Product Manager and Sales leadAlign proposed work to the product roadmap, flagging misalignment to the Group Product Manager earlyCollaborate with Sales, Solutions Architects, the Proposal team, and Clients to facilitate solution definitionSkills3+ years as a Product Owner, Solution Consultant, or equivalent role (BA with PO scope, Technical Product Manager, Pre-Sales Engineer) in B2B, with personal experience producing Solution Design documents and BRDsExperience operating across both Product and Sales/Pre-Sales contexts — Product Owners who've supported pursuits, Solution Consultants and Pre-Sales Engineers who've embedded in customer Solution Design, or current POs looking to broaden upstreamDemonstrated experience leading Solution Design or discovery sessions with external clientsComfortable orchestrating cross-functional work — you know when to contribute directly, when to engage a specialist, and when to coordinate multiple contributors into a coherent outputEstimation discipline — you understand the difference between order-of-magnitude and committed estimates, and can defend an estimate under pressure from SalesStrong written communication — your Solution Designs, BRDs, and SOW language are clear enough that another Product Owner picks them up and builds without redoing discoveryStrong facilitation — you lead rooms with mixed business, technical, and customer participants and leave with consensusComfortable with ambiguity — go toward unclear scope and bring back clarityRisk identification — frame risks in a way that drives action, not just flags themFluent in Jira and Confluence; active use of modern AI tooling in your workflowHands-on experience with utility Customer Information Systems (CIS), utility billing, meter-to-cash, customer self-service portals, or mobile field toolsPrior B2B SaaS experience contributing to RFPs and SOWs — you've personally written solution language that became contractual scopeIntegration and API fluency — comfortable reading API docs, reasoning about authentication, error handling, payment processors, and third-party connectorsExperience working alongside enterprise sales cycles — vendor selection, RFP/RFI responses, pre-sales solutioningBenefitsRemote-first environment, flexible working hours across North America, and hub offices in Charlottetown & AtlantaComprehensive compensation package that grows with youMacBook + $800 to create your ideal home workspaceHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance from day oneGenerous PTO and unlimited sick daysRRSP (Canada) and 401k (US) matching programs$2,500 annual development fund, tuition assistance, and Book Bounty programAnnual company events and team offsites that bring us togetherCompany OverviewSpryPoint provides cloud based solutions and consulting services to help utilities optimize customer service and operations.
