[Remote] Product Manager

The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Product Manager for the Wisconsin Health Data Hub, a federally funded initiative focused on developing a secure data platform for biomedical research and real-world data analytics. The Product Manager will guide product development, translating stakeholder needs into product strategies and ensuring cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful solutions.ResponsibilitiesDefine product vision, strategy, and roadmap for WHDH platform capabilities, data products, and digital servicesTranslate institutional priorities, stakeholder requirements, and market opportunities into actionable product plansIdentify new product opportunities that expand WHDH’s value proposition to research, healthcare, and industry partnersMaintain and communicate product priorities, timelines, dependencies, and success metricsDevelop and manage product backlogs, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical teamsPartner with other team members to deliver product features on schedule and within scopeCoordinate product launches, release planning, change readiness, and user adoption activitiesBalance competing priorities across technical debt, new features, compliance needs, and stakeholder requestsGather requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and ongoing engagement with stakeholdersServe as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teamsPresent product updates, roadmap decisions, and progress reports to leadership, sponsors, and advisory groupsBuild strong relationships with external collaborators to identify partnership and commercialization opportunitiesDefine KPIs and monitor adoption, satisfaction, operational performance, and business impact of WHDH productsUse analytics and user feedback to improve usability, workflows, and feature prioritizationConduct competitive and market analysis to inform product direction and positioningDrive continuous improvement processes that enhance speed, quality, and customer value deliveryTrains, serves as a resource, and provides guidance to other IT business analysts on non-routine problems, processes, and policiesFormulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirementsWorks on tasks including project or functional requirements, functional design, functional configuration, testing, and documentationMay work with external vendors or service providersPerforms analyses and prepares reports to ensure that programs meet or exceed schedule commitmentsAssists senior staff in developing strategic approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issuesParticipates in requirements planning and feasibility determinationDevises or modifies complex information systems including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessaryMay lead cross-functional project teams and may manage portions of the project life cycle.
