[Remote] Product Manager

The Product Manager will drive profit and growth across assigned states and territories by managing product strategies, pricing, and market trends while collaborating with various stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesIndependently identify, prioritize, and drive organizational focus on profit/growth opportunitiesBuild relationships and add value across core stakeholder departments (UW, Sales, Actuarial, IT, etc.)Be the go-to expert on assigned lines of products, strategy, markets, business levers, data, and executionEffectively leverage data, analytics, and available supporting resourcesOversee and maximize the value of state rate filings at all stagesPoint person for responses and action plans regarding regulatory mattersIndependently create, and oversee the creation of, influential presentations associated with the execution of day-to-day opportunities and broad strategic opportunitiesFully leverage, motivate and develop analyst staffOversee the creation of a multiyear 'product roadmap' for the delivery of new and updated productsComplete ground-up builds of new products via form languageReview and refresh existing form language on an ongoing basisIdentify products/updates that would drive the largest market impact or mitigate the largest risksBe the point person and subject matter expert regarding MOE’s products, forms, and coveragesResearch market trends to proactively identify potential new products and coverages, or necessary adjustments to avoid gaps in the marketplace or regulatory exposureDesign and facilitate training associated with any product launches and updatesSkillsVery strong analytic and project management capabilitiesExpert knowledge of P&C insurance products and the filing processKnowledge of predictive/pricing modeling methodology, and actuarial principlesKnowledge of Underwriting principles, methodology, and general theoryExpert use of PowerPoint and ExcelKnowledge of SQL, SAS, VBA, and other programming/data management is a strong plusTranslate analysis into coherent presentations and communicationExperience in Underwriting and in the creation of new products, forms, and policy languageFully versed in the regulatory and legal review process necessary to support product approvalBachelor's Degree in Economics, Actuarial, Business Admin, Mathematics, or related analytic disciplines5+ years of P&C experience in personal lines or small commercial/farm product management, actuarial, or sales/underwriting; but experience in portfolio-managed products would also be considered5+ years in a core underwriting role which interacted directly with policy languageExpert knowledge of insurance, actuarial principles, modeling, computer science, and data manipulationGraduate degree and/or related professional designations (Underwriting, Actuarial, and Finance)Experience with managing products and interacting with regulatory environments in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and ArizonaExperience working with an independent agency channel distributionExperience managing direct reports and multiple stakeholder departments outside of the direct reporting relationship is a strong preferenceExperience with modeling and predictive analyticsBenefitsCompensation is only one part of our entire total rewards package.
