[Remote] Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will bridge the Formulation team and contract manufacturing partners, optimizing formulas for manufacturability and troubleshooting production challenges.ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with the Formulation team during development to fully understand each formula, including functional ingredients, excipients, specifications, and product claimsIdentify formulation “levers” that can be adjusted to improve manufacturability while maintaining product performance, quality, specifications, and claimsUnderstand the equipment, capabilities, and limitations of each contract manufacturer to ensure formulas are designed for successful productionEvaluate excipients and processing aids that may improve manufacturing efficiency, flowability, mixing, filling, stability, or overall process robustnessTranslate formulation requirements into practical manufacturing guidance for powders and liquidsSupport troubleshooting during scale-up, validation, and commercial productionWork cross-functionally with Formulation, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing teams to resolve process and formula-related challengesSkillsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical fieldExperience working as a Process Engineer with powder and liquid formulationsStrong understanding of formulation, scale-up, and manufacturing processesAbility to assess contract manufacturer equipment capabilities and limitationsExperience troubleshooting production issues and recommending practical formula or process adjustmentsKnowledge of excipients, processing aids, and raw materials that support manufacturabilityComfortable balancing manufacturability, product claims, specifications, quality, and costBackground in household cleaning, personal care, or adjacent consumer productsBenefitsHealth benefitsStock optionsGenerous paid time offPaid holidaysPaid civic engagement daysPaid parental leave401k (employee contribution)Professional development stipendsRemote work reimbursementsVarious discounts to like-minded companiesCompany OverviewBlueland is a eco-friendly refillable cleaning supply retailer.
