[Remote] Privacy Counsel - Mandarin Speaking (Full Time, Remote Position)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VeraSafe is a privacy and cybersecurity compliance consulting firm seeking a Privacy Counsel to join their remote team. The role involves working on privacy law, advising clients, and drafting legal documents while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Assessing client information systems for compliance with data protection laws and regulations
ā¢ Drafting data protection agreements, addenda, and amendments
ā¢ Advising clients on privacy-related product improvements
ā¢ Researching legal issues and composing legal opinions/memoranda
ā¢ Writing privacy law related articles and blog posts
ā¢ Assisting in the development of in-house legal templates
ā¢ Contributing to the development of internal procedures and methodologies
ā¢ Collaborating with a team of intellectual peers who value cooperation and community
Skills
ā¢ License to practice law (active and in good standing) in your jurisdiction
ā¢ Experience in privacy/data protection of 4-6 years or experience in the field of life sciences of at least 4 years
ā¢ Team player, interested in contributing to a growing enterprise
ā¢ Strong writing/editing skills and attention to detail
ā¢ Ability to work remotely
ā¢ Willingness to learn new skills and receive direction and feedback from partners
ā¢ Willingness to pursue privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM)
ā¢ Proficiency in Mandarin strongly preferred
ā¢ Experience working in a law firm
ā¢ Previous contract drafting and negotiation experience
ā¢ Privacy certifications of some kind (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, specialty from law school, etc.)
ā¢ Professional involvement in the privacy and/or data security space (attendance at privacy conferences; membership or publication in the IAPP, etc.)
