The role involves creating maintainable software, developing REST APIs, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget.ResponsibilitiesParticipates in architecture design teamsDefines and implements application-level architectureDevelops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the divisionRecommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plansResponsible for QA readiness of software deliverablesDevelops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystemsEstablishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platformsResponsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budgetAdvises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projectsPlans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projectsActs as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issuesProvides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiativesAdvises senior management on technical strategyMentors junior team membersPerforms independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiativesDevelops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development effortsSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud-native REST APIs and event streaming applications, using Java, AWS, Spring framework, and KafkaOr, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud-native REST APIs and event streaming applications, using Java, AWS, Spring framework, and KafkaDemonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, and integrating Java Web services using Spring Boot and Spring Security according to service-oriented and microservices architecture; and authenticating applications using Open Authorization (oAuth) and Spring MVC frameworksDE designing, developing, and building Rest and SOAP microservice; enforcing application authentication, using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) validation; and reviewing requirements, investigating problem areas, and debugging and monitoring microservice applications, using Splunk and Datadog metricsDE implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Web services, using Jenkins and Concourse; supporting the full Web application development lifecycle -- analysis, design, development, test, and deployment -- using source version control (Git and Stash) and build tools (Maven, AWS Cloud Formation Template, and Jenkins), according to Agile methodologiesDE designing, developing, and deploying high throughput, scalable data loader process, using AWS Batch service and event streaming applications (using Apache Kafka); and creating unit tests using PowerMockito and end-to-end functional test automation in a Jenkins pipelineCompany OverviewFidelity’s mission is to strengthen the financial well-being of our customers and deliver better outcomes for the clients and businesses we serve.
