They are seeking a Principal Product Marketing Manager to articulate the product’s value in the marketplace and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and clarity in product narratives.ResponsibilitiesOwn the product narrative for MAI ContentWork directly with Product and Engineering to explain how and why MAI Content makes product decisions, including areas like AI-generated content (AIGC), Publisher Content Marketplace (PCM), monetization approaches, recommendation & personalization systems, content formats, and roadmap tradeoffsTranslate internal product logic, constraints, and principles into clear external-facing narratives for sales, partners, and publishers, without over-simplifying or over-promisingArticulate MAI Content’s AI principles, quality standards, and guardrailsHelp define and communicate MAI’s principles for AI-generated content, including quality bars, safety considerations, and trust frameworksPartner closely with Product and Policy to ensure our external messaging reflects how the systems actually work, not aspirational abstractionsServe as a steward for clarity in areas where AI behavior, evaluation, or tradeoffs are non-obviousDefine audiences, formats, and ecosystems—globallyOwn MAI’s audience and format narratives, including how different products and surfaces behave across regions and use casesClearly explain how MAI audiences show up for publishers, creators, and sales teams, and how formats and inventory should be understood in contextEnsure audience narratives are consistent, grounded in reality, and usable across GTM motionsPartner deeply with Sales on positioning and revenue growthWork with Sales to define new brand and product positioning, particularly for emerging monetization and ad productsTranslate product capabilities into sales-ready narratives that support revenue growth without distorting product truthAct as a strategic thought partner to Sales leadership on how MAI offerings should be framed in marketShape MAI Content’s internal and external communications channelsDevelop narratives for internal and external communication about our product strategy, roadmap and how it connects to the values of journalism and quality contentEnsure consistency between our team and MAI / MSFT core narrativesBe a connective tissue across MAIOperate as a trusted cross-functional partner spanning Product, Marketing, Monetization, Sales, Policy, Growth, and LeadershipIdentify gaps where product intent, market understanding, and execution are misaligned—and step in to close themContribute to MAI-level strategic documents, narratives, and leadership conversationsSkillsMaster's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business OR equivalent experienceMaster's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years marketing or sales experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Strategy, or adjacent roles at scaleExperience working on platforms, ecosystems, or AI‑driven products where behavior and outcomes are not always deterministicProven ability to translate complex product or technical concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for senior stakeholdersSolid judgment around trust, quality, and external commitmentsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with publishers, creators, or advertising‑adjacent ecosystemsFamiliarity with AI/ML‑driven products, product evaluation, or policy‑adjacent constraintsHistory of partnering closely with Sales on high‑stakes positioning and revenue narrativesBenefitsCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.Find additional benefits and pay information here: https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/us-corporate-payCompany OverviewMicrosoft is a software corporation that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells a range of software products and services.
