Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Clarivate is seeking a Principal IP Consultant to deliver expert IP law guidance to complex US-based clients. This role involves hands-on IP law implementation, client engagement, and collaboration with internal teams to support governance and risk mitigation for high-value accounts.ResponsibilitiesMaintain & demonstrate expert understanding of at least one IPMS - Memotech (to start with) both from legal subject matter and product functionality perspectiveBe a key participant in collaborating with product teams to strategize future developments on system enhancements and product evolution, keeping customer interests in mindImprove the customer experience & drive for customer retention by enhancing satisfaction with IP Laws via expeditious resolution of client inquiries. This may include the following & more:Serve as the IP Laws subject matter expert in client meetings, with responsibility for tracking and managing the end-to-end execution, strategizing, and problem-solving of client issuesManage client issues through Salesforce case creation, maintaining a client issues tracker, and collaborating across teams (including IP Renewals, Product/Technical Support, EDT, Supplier Management, and CSMs) to ensure timely resolution and deliveryFollow IP Laws Salesforce processes to accurately track and process support ticketsSupport efforts to proactively identify and remove at-risk clients from the Risk RegisterProvide guidance and support to CSMs to help resolve customer issues effectivelySupport the Professional Services team with client requests, as neededParticipate in bi-weekly/monthly touch base with CSMs, product leads, and other stakeholdersCollaborate closely with other Memotech IP Laws Consultants to deliver timely, comprehensive responses to client inquiries, including direct communication and client education when requiredAttend in-person, customer-facing events, conferences, and client visits—primarily in the US—to deliver IP Laws information sessionsDraft & test requirements definitions for IP law updates (particularly client support-driven cases) to support timely, high quality IP law releasesContribute to the creation and maintenance of product documentation including Best Practice guides and Docketing guidesLiaise with Product teams on new system functionality needs and manage stakeholder engagement for change deployment; working closely with software developers to escalate and resolve system and functionality issues and manage stakeholder engagement for change deploymentInteract with software developers to escalate and resolve issues in the functionality and programming of the softwareParticipate in post-production issue review meetings with MemotechConduct weekly check-ins with the IP laws team in Noida and BelgradeCapture, track, and report key metrics related to Memotech law implementationsParticipate in strategic initiative projects across the IP Laws teamSkillsBachelor's degree Law, Intellectual Property, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience7+ years of experience in the intellectual property industry5+ years of experience with portfolio management software (preferably Memotech), docketing practice, or IP Law calculationsAdvanced knowledge and understanding of Patent rules and procedures of the USPTO, EPO, PCT, WIPO and other national and international governing bodiesExperience with IP consulting, or with client management, with the ability to navigate complex & challenging clients' situationsBenefitsBonus earningsMedicalDentalPrescription drugLife insurance401k with matchLong term disability coverageVacationSick timeVolunteer timeDiscount programsCompany OverviewClarivate is a leading global provider of transformative intelligence.
