This role involves overseeing large projects related to healthcare information technology systems, leading sourcing projects, and ensuring technical accuracy in reports sent to clients.ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes information technology price quotations for equipment and software from a financial perspective and provides hospitals with information and resources to facilitate price negotiations with vendorsAnalyzes utilization trends across departments and/or facilities to identify opportunities for utilization optimization that may result in cost savings and/or reduced wasteAnalyzes market alternatives and market share data to identify potential opportunities for standardization/market shifts to mitigate disruptions with technologies or suppliesIdentifies purchase, lease/rental, and service contract pricing benchmarks using Staritas' internal database applicationsAssists Staritas member facilities with IT capital equipment planning, and budgetingRoutinely surveys client requests and feedback to identify trends, deficits, etc. Proactively encourages the use of services to clients in correlation with other requests when opportunities present themselves. Collects specific client feedback whenever possibleReviews/edits/approves comparative and market intelligence reports before they are sent to clients. Works with individual analysts as needed to ensure technical accuracy and proper clinical focus in all reportsOversees and coordinates work on large projects related to information systems, software, and services. Provides input and assistance on projects and reports involving multiple technologiesLeads Sourcing projects and coordinates calls with Staritas analysts, clinical engineers, and clients. Develops new RFP questionnaires, reviews and analyzes vendor RFP responses, and makes vendor/product purchase recommendations based on technical specifications, quoted pricing, and proposed service and support optionsWorks with Team Managers to develop new reports, as well as new service offerings to help the team keep evolving in meeting client needsEducates new analysts and team members on capital and supply databases, the Staritas website, and department protocolsAssists during the interview, selection, and training process when new personnel are hiredServes as a liaison for development efforts related to GSCS, with regard specifically to development initiatives, testing, and issue resolutionSupports sales teams using web conferencing to perform demos and provide additional sales pitch and selling strategies to help reps to close salesEstablishes and maintains relationships with vendors; hosts technology demonstrations and webinars on updated and new productsAttends and presents at trade shows and conferences relevant to their subject matter expertise to promote Staritas as a thought leader in the healthcare arena to help drive Staritas' continued growth and expansionProvides subject matter expertise within capital, supply, and services to be able to provide guidance throughout StaritasAbility to work well with colleagues across departments in the organizationDemonstrates exceptional customer service, written communication, and presentation skillsEstablish and maintain excellent relationships with clients by routinely keeping them informed of project status and developmentsSkillsFive (5) or more years' experience in healthcare IT systems assessment, selection, procurement, and installation, and/or a related role as an experienced clinical advisor for IT systems development and user training (e.g., acute care nursing/nursing education background)High-level Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and software applications, electronic health records (EHR), clinical workflows, and terminology in the healthcare industryFamiliarity with IT infrastructure, software development, and system integrationAbility to translate clinical requirements into technical specificationsAbility to conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in healthcare IT procurement, healthcare IT systems, and related devices and softwareAbility to lead, organize and manage multiple concurrent tasks related to clinical information system projectsKnowledge of database management, data integration, and data analytics toolsAbility to Identify, evaluate, and select vendors for healthcare IT solutions. Conduct thorough assessments of vendor capabilities and offeringsAbility to meet virtually with healthcare IT professionals and project managers, lead meetings, and make recommendations related to the selection of healthcare IT systems and software solutionsAbility to express self effectively and concisely both orally and in writing and to quickly grasp the operating principles of previously unfamiliar technologyShould be able to independently, reliably, and effectively manage changing priorities for multiple simultaneous tasksBachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, healthcare management, clinical informatics, or a related field.
