[Remote] Principal Functional Consultant, Sage X3

Practical Software Solutions is a 30-year-old ERP and SaaS provider seeking a highly experienced Principal Sage X3 Manufacturing & Distribution Consultant to lead complex ERP implementations and serve as a trusted advisor for clients. The role involves solution architecture, mentoring consultants, and supporting pre-sales efforts with subject matter expertise. Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end Sage X3 implementations, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support. • Architect scalable solutions across Manufacturing, Distribution, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance components. • Translate complex operational workflows into efficient, system-enabled processes. • Oversee data migration strategy, tooling, and validation. • Configure and optimize Sage X3 modules including: • Bills of Materials (BOM) • Routing & Work Centers • MRP/MPS • Shop Floor Control • Quality Control • Warehouse Management / Logistics • Sales & Procurement • Advise clients on industry best practices and process improvements for discrete and/or process manufacturing operations. • Serve as a senior point of contact for executive stakeholders and project sponsors. • Facilitate workshops, executive-level presentations, and design reviews. • Troubleshoot complex issues and guide clients toward effective, long-term solutions. • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level consultants. • Lead cross-functional project teams and collaborate with technical developers. • Contribute to project planning, resource forecasting, and risk mitigation. • Partner with Sales to scope projects and deliver product demos as needed. • Influence practice-building initiatives, methodology enhancements, and internal knowledge libraries. • Stay current on Sage X3 roadmap, integrations, and emerging technologies. Skills • 8+ years of experience implementing Sage X3, with at least 5+ years in a senior or principal consulting role. • Deep functional knowledge of manufacturing and distribution operations. • Proven experience leading large-scale ERP projects or multi-phase rollouts. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills. • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences. • Experience with horticulture and/or spirits industries. • Understanding of integrations, APIs, and third-party applications related to Sage X3. • Prior experience mentoring or leading consulting teams. • Certifications in Sage X3 or related ERP systems. • Experience with regulatory or specialty requirements (FDA/traceability, multi-site, multi-entity, etc.).
