They are seeking a Principal Engineer - Networking to define the architecture of network products, lead technology research, and manage a design team in the networking product space.ResponsibilitiesDefine complex networking platform solutions and lead a multi-disciplined team to bring to implementationExtensive and focused engagement through EVT, phasing out thereafter. Ensure overall design quality metrics are metManage a small supporting team, drive goals and objectives of that team within broader collaborative environment between Technology, Development, and Customer teamsDevelop and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologiesLead the RFQ technical responseDeliverables include System Requirements Documents (SRD), requirement compliance assessments, and Technical proposalsAct as a primary technical interface between Celestica and our customers, particularly in technical escalationProvide technical support to business development teams to assist in the winning of new businessParticipate in the selection and hiring of design team resources as requiredIdentify and Champion process improvement efforts as neededParticipate in standards committees and industry groups as assignedPrepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etcMaintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunitiesOther duties as assignedSkillsExperience with relevant leading technologies in network products including: CPU devices including Intel & AMD X86 embedded processors and ARM embedded processorsNPU devices including all Broadcom families (Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, Ramon), as well as alternative device families such as Nvidia, Cisco and Marvell desiredHigh speed design including PCB materials, Serdes technology (224/448G), connector, cable, and parasitic challenges in designNetwork performance characteristics and related device optimization featuresPower devices including multi-stage and near load deliveryAdvanced assembly techniques / challenges affecting designOptics devices and technology – trade-offs and trendsMechanical design challenges/flexibility as it impacts architectureMinimum of 15 years network hardware design experienceMinimum of 10 years of network experience at the system levelBS in Electrical Engineering required; MSEE preferredSuccessful experience architecting and delivering network products to marketExcellent Customer presentation skills.
