[Remote] Principal Data Center Mechanical Engineer

EdgeConneX is a global leader in data center solutions, seeking a visionary Principal Data Center Mechanical Engineer to define the mechanical architecture for their next-generation global data center standard. In this role, you will research and evaluate cooling technologies, develop mechanical designs, and maintain design standards while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.ResponsibilitiesDefine Mechanical Architecture: Develop and standardize mechanical designs for EdgeConneX data centers, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and sustainabilityResearch & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and community initiatives, evaluating new cooling technologies, energy efficiency strategies, and mechanical systemsStandards Development: Create, maintain, and update design standards, guidelines, and templates to provide clear direction for internal and external stakeholdersCollaboration: Work closely with internal project engineering teams and external EPC partners to ensure alignment and successful implementationSolution-Oriented Approach: Deliver flexible solutions that meet diverse customer requirements while maintaining consistency with EdgeConneX standardsStakeholder Engagement: Communicate ideas effectively, establish actionable plans, drive consensus, and secure buy-in across teamsSkillsMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Minimum 10 years in large-scale data center mechanical designAt least 5 years of experience on international projectsDeep understanding of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, energy efficiency strategies, and emerging mechanical innovationsStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to navigate complex challenges and propose multiple viable solutionsProven track record of driving consensus among diverse stakeholdersFamiliarity with global standards and compliance requirementsExperience collaborating with EPC firms and managing large-scale deploymentsPassion for innovation and continuous improvement in data center designBenefitsEdgeConneX offers a competitive benefits package.Company OverviewDice is a job-searching platform for technology professionals.
