[Remote] Principal Data Analyst - Remote

The Principal Data Analyst is responsible for developing complex reporting across multiple systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting capabilities and troubleshoot barriers.ResponsibilitiesIdentify opportunities for reporting efficiencies, lead and manage new solution implementationsAnalyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and potential gapsRetrieve data from multiple sources using SQL and other tools to combine into clear, insightful reporting for both technical and non-technical audiencesManage clinical and other data resources for team; including set up, documentation, and resolving access or data barriersEnsure reporting accuracy, consistency in both data and visualizationManage multiple projects simultaneously and on time, while communicating barriers to stakeholdersCommunicate findings effectivelyCollaborate with cross-functional teams: IT, medical directors, clinical teams, cross-functional reporting teams, account management, othersSkills7+ years of experience writing queries with SQL (or Python, R) at advanced level5+ years querying data from different sources and building processes to aggregate into a concise report3+ years building reports with clinical and/or diagnostic data3+ years of experience collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify reporting opportunities and develop solutionsExperience working with multidisciplinary teams, including business and technology partnersDemonstrated knowledge of data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehouse design, and large-scale data processingProficient in data analysis, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualizationMaster's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field3+ years querying reports in Snowflake1+ year UMR experienceExperience working with CPT/ICD10 coding and aligning into similar groupsProven knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, or similar)All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyBenefitsA comprehensive benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements)Company OverviewUnitedHealthcare helps people live healthier lives by simplifying the health care experience.
