[Remote] Principal Analytics Consultant (Tableau)

They are seeking a Principal Analytics Consultant specializing in Tableau to help clients gain value from their data through analytics enablement, data visualization, and data science.ResponsibilitiesDeliver on project-based consulting engagements and help clients develop analytical requirements through prototyping and visualizationManage client expectations by leading weekly status reports, facilitating working sessions, and proactively soliciting feedback to keep engagements aligned and moving forwardCreate, publish, and optimize Tableau reports, dashboards, and workbooks; diagnose visual and data issues; and recommend improvements to datasets, extracts, and visuals to improve usability and performanceAnalyze, troubleshoot, and tune product performance or deployment issues when required, and implement durable fixes when problems ariseSupport backlog management and development activities across client engagementsIdentify and recommend functionality and solutions to meet and enhance user requirementsRecommend best practices to optimize data models, dashboards, platform architecture, and Tableau environment performanceOwn the development of the technical project approach, help manage the backlog or project plan, and execute on a focused set of high-value tasks within team engagementsOwn the long-term vision around analytics strategy and tool selection, provide escalation support, and contribute to phData’s broader analytics community through mentorship and thought partnershipMentor junior consultants and help raise the bar on performance, utilization, and project delivery across the teamSkills7+ years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated expertise in data analytics and data visualization platforms in an enterprise environment3+ years of external consulting experienceExpertise in Tableau development, data visualization, and data modeling in enterprise environmentsDemonstrated expertise in data fluency and communicating effectively with business users and technical stakeholdersStrong SQL experience leveraging data warehouses, data marts, and/or data models, ideally in Snowflake environmentsExceptional customer-facing skills, including strong communication and project management capabilitiesStrong problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and mastering new technologies, techniques, and proceduresExperience scaling Tableau at an enterprise level and recommending platform modernization or optimization strategiesExperience leading teams of consultants and mentoring more junior team members to ensure strong performance and delivery outcomesData preparation experience using Alteryx or KNIME, or similar tools such as Matillion, Dataiku, or CoalesceExperience with Snowflake and cloud services on AWS and/or Azure relevant to analytics and data platformsExperience with Tableau administrative automation using command-line tooling, scripting, or the Tableau REST APITableau certificationsBenefitsRemote-First Work Environment.401k plan with company match.Dental and Vision insurance.Home Office Equipment Stipend.Annual stipend for Learning and Development.Competitive comp, excellent benefits, 4 weeks PTO plan plus 10 Holidays (and other cool perks).Company OverviewphData Premier provider of Big Data managed services and architecture, engineering, and data science consulting.
